Watcha Reading?

Finished the latest Bob Moore book by Tom Andry (Hostile Territory). It was good, perhaps 4 stars instead of 5.

Omega Days by John L. Campbell was a pretty good zombie book, focusing on several characters and their travails as they cross the San Francisco-Oakland area after a breakout, and these characters come together (or get close to it) near the end. Waiting for part 2.

Started Waiting to Die by Richard M. Cochran, got bored with that one. Started well, bogged down after about 20%.

Reading Quantum Physics and the End of the Universe right now……well, not really, another zombie book, What Zombies Fear. Kinda short, only 193 pages, should have it done tonight. Not great, but more than readable.

How about you?

If you have access to Netflix… watch Death Valley.

    It
    Is
    Hilarious

Once again, MTV has screwed the pooch with their lack of foresight. They lost it when they moved away from music videos (yeah, I am that old to remember). ANd this time, they decided to not renew Death Valley.

And yes… still in the Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time.

Currently reading and enjoying immensely “Hell At The Breech” by Tom Franklin.

Based on incidents that occurred a few miles from the author’s childhood home, Hell at the Breech chronicles the events of dark days that led the people involved to discover their capacity for good, evil, or for both.

In 1897, an aspiring politician is mysteriously murdered in the rural area of Alabama known as Mitcham Beat. His outraged friends — —mostly poor cotton farmers — form a secret society, Hell-at-the-Breech, to punish the townspeople they believe responsible. The hooded members wage a bloody year-long campaign of terror that culminates in a massacre where the innocent suffer alongside the guilty. Caught in the maelstrom of the Mitcham war are four people: the aging sheriff sympathetic to both sides; the widowed midwife who delivered nearly every member of Hell-at-the-Breech; a ruthless detective who wages his own war against the gang; and a young store clerk who harbors a terrible secret.

Wait, they had detectives back in 1897?
    And they were “ruthless”?
