Warmist Worries About Coral Which Apparently Thrives In Cold Water

We’re all doomed if temps rise a simple 2 degrees Celsius, says Thomas Lovejoy, who’s apparently never read anything about coral

(NY Times) It is abundantly clear that the target of a 2-degree Celsius limit to climate change was mostly derived from what seemed convenient and doable without any reference to what it really means environmentally. Two degrees is actually too much for ecosystems. Tropical coral reefs are extremely vulnerable to even brief periods of warming. The elevated atmospheric CO2 also has raised the acidity of the oceans, which affects the ability of coral and mollusks such as oysters to build shells and skeletons. A 2-degree world will be one without coral reefs (on which millions of human beings depend for their well-being).

The acidity alarmist has been debunked. And corals and mollusks thrive in warm water, particularly the coral. They are a warm water species which evolved when the Earth and the oceans were much, much warmer. How do these Warmists think many coral based islands were formed? The sea levels where much higher and the water much warmer…why do I bother? These climate astrologers are bat shit insane with no knowledge of science nor history.

At current global warming of 0.8-0.9 degrees, the fingerprints of climate change can be seen virtually everywhere in nature. The coniferous forests of western North America are currently experiencing massive tree mortality because climate change has tipped the balance in favor of native bark beetles. The Amazon seems to be edging close to dieback in the southern and southeastern portions of the great forest.

The bark beetles have been debunked, as well. And nature changes. It did during all the previous cool and warm periods during this inter-glacial. I wonder how the forests did during the last ice age? And the hot periods beforehand? This is alarmism for alarmism sake, with no mention that perhaps Warmists should practice what they preach.

Unsurprisingly, the Times refused to allow comments on the op-ed, probably because Warmists get beaten like rented mules when comments are allowed.

    Why do you bother?

Becuase somebody has to keep exposing these batshit insane assholes or they win by default.

    That’s why.

  2. Brian says:

Hmmmmmmmmm, I always thought that coral
could be found only in tropical waters.

  3. Trish says:

Bat shit insanity debunking. It’s a dirty job, but Teach is up to it.

  4. Some days it seems like an uphill battle, Bob. Especially having to repeat the same things for the Liberals/Warmists, otherwise known as “morons”.

According to Warmist doctrine, Brian, coral only thrives at the poles.

Some days it’s difficult, Trish. But, I’ll just pull my hip waders up some more.

So, are they suggesting that when it was warmer than this during the very recent RWP and the MWP, that there was no life around? Or, how about when “life started in the primordial ooze” theory and the earth was still a huge ball of steaming pile of …. well, ooze!

Tropical coral reefs are extremely vulnerable to even brief periods of warming.

Good thing they only grow in the northern latitudes then.

The elevated atmospheric CO2 also has raised the acidity of the oceans

Someone needs to tell the sunbathers then. We can’t have the ocean turning from saline to normal bath water and expect people to live.

No worries, we are making our own. Man tends to adapt and overcome nature pretty well.

At current global warming of 0.8-0.9 degrees, the fingerprints of climate change can be seen virtually everywhere in nature.

That’s actually, 0.7 per century. Which, again, is not outside the norms of expected.
Please describe and annotate the specific instances that the rising temperatures caused an unexpected fingerprint upon our ecosystems.

The coniferous forests of western North America are currently experiencing massive tree mortality because climate change has tipped the balance in favor of native bark beetles.

Anyone else see the UTTER-STUPIDITY in this alarmist statement?

The Amazon seems to be edging close to dieback in the southern and southeastern portions of the great forest.

This couldn’t\wouldn’t\shouldn’t have anything to do with the massive clearcutting of the native forests in order to plant burnable biomass for fuel would it?
