Gore Missing From DNC, But Ted Kennedy Was There

Some far left agitators have been wondering just where George W. Bush has been this election season. As has been repeated ad nauseum, he’s engaged in the time honored practice of staying out of politics once out of office. Except for the 2nd Worst President Ever (Jimmy Carter), who’ll show up to say how great the Worst President Ever is, and Bill Clinton, serial misogynist, credibly accused rapist, and guy who had sexual relations with a girl young enough to be a daughter, who’ll give a keynote speech at the DNC. But, what of Al Gore?

(Politico) In 2008, Al Gore strode onto the stage at Denver’s Invesco Field to a hero’s welcome, throwing his support behind Barack Obama to take on the “global climate crisis.”

When Obama takes the stage this week, Gore will be nowhere in sight.

Gore will be hanging out leading the way for his Current TV, which no one watches, and most cannot even get.

Gore’s evolution over the past four years — from a central figure in the Democratic Party to a no-show at its biggest event — matches what has happened to the issue of climate change itself, which moved to the sidelines alongside its chief crusader, environmentalists and some Democrats say.

Even Obama doesn’t care that much about globull warming. At least in terms of Doing Something. What we do know is that Gore’s religion has by dying a hard, slow death since his prime speaking slot at the 2008 DNC on the same night Obama was immaculated. Besides, the DNC already has enough cranks speaking, ones like Sandra Fluke, Debbie Wasserman Liar, er, Schultz, the president of NARAL, and a host of other who pushed/will push abortion on demand and the ginned up war on women.

Speaking of the war on women, guess who received a speaking part at the DNC Tuesday night? That’s right, the ghost of Ted Kennedy

(Washington Examiner) Democrats have adopted the one-word slogan “Forward” to describe President Obama’s re-election campaign and the party’s philosophy in general.  All the speakers on the convention’s first night made some sort of reference to it.  But for a party that is so intently focused on the future, the biggest, loudest, and most emotional moment of the night came not when the delegates welcomed one promising face of the future (keynote speaker Julian Castro), nor the face of the present (First Lady Michelle Obama), but instead when the crowd watched a video tribute to the late Sen. Edward Kennedy, who would have run for president 40 years ago, in 1972, had he not suffered the political effects of fleeing and failing to report a fatal auto accident, and did run for the White House 32 years ago, in 1980, when he unsuccessfully challenged a sitting Democratic president.

And there you have it. Byron York continues on to show that the video of Swimmer Ted received the biggest applause and cheers of any of the speakers Tuesday. Unfortunately, Mary Jo was unavailable for comment. Since she’s still dead. Because this guy the Democrats lionize left a woman to drown as the car slowly sank over two hours into the river, all while he lawyered up and worked on his alibi.

Kennedy was know to treat young women like playthings, some young enough to be his grandchildren, and some underage. His wife stayed home in Massachussets while Ted constantly cheated on her, turning her into an alcoholic. He was also a major drinker, and a cheater. But, on a night during a convention that is supposed to say that “women are super awesome”, the DNC featured a guy who left a woman to die.

Allahpundit, who has the video, opines “They’re all but admitting that their pretense of moral superiority really is just a pose taken for political effect.”

Also missing from the DNC is “God” and pro-Israel language.

“But, but.. but, Paul Ryan once dated a black woman who, we think, now supports Obama. That’s worse!!

“he’s engaged in the time honored practice of staying out of politics once out of office.”

Is that what the krazy kids are using in place of He’s Engaged in Staying Away From the GOP Convention Because His Popularity Rating is Slightly Higher Than Cervical Cancer?

He’s still more popular than McCain or Buchanan. But, then they also did not push hard enough to have Palin speak. or Allen West. Or many of the other Tea Party Patriots.

I love how the DNC Socialist Abortion-for-all Convention hypes how the Tea Party, who wants to return to originalist intent, are EXTREME.

  4. No, Frank, that’s what presidential candidates traditionally do. It’s really that simple.

but hey, it all works out. We had a guy from Texas, and now they’ll have a guy who suborned perjury to a federal judge and grand jury, was impeached by Congress, had adulterous sex in the Presidential Oval Office, and has been disbarred.

    Yeah. Completely the same!!! Yeah!

No Teach, it’s not that simple. Reagan spoke at conventions following his presidency; Bush the Elder spoke on behalf of Bob Dole in 1996, and this is I believe Clinton’s third post-presidency convention speech. Had Iraq gone the way Bush and his merry band of neocons predicted and the economy hadn’t plummeted, Dubya very likely would have been a featured guest in Tampa last week.
