Joe Biden: “Being A Plumber Doesn’t Qualify You To Be President”

How about being a community organizer who wrote a few books and started his political career off in the living room of domestic terrorists? Never having done any actual work in the private sector, never having had to lead a company, make a profit, balance a spreadsheet? Does that qualify a person?

(MSNBC) “Your job as president is to promote the common good,” he said, comparing the job of a president to that of a private equity mogul. “That doesn’t mean that private equity guys are bad guys; they’re not. But that no more qualifies you to be president than being a plumber!”

Except, the plumber might understand economics a bit more than a community agitator. But, if the president’s job is to “promote the common good”, then why has Obama saddled the US with well over $5 trillion in new debt in just over 3 years on the job? Why did he waste hundreds of billions financed by China to repay campaign contributors? Why did he waste billions on “green” companies that were bound to fail?

Biden, who spoke to a crowd of over 450 supporters and students at Keene State College, called the private-equity business itself “legitimate,” but pushed the administration’s argument that its imperative of wealth creation for investors doesn’t translate to the skill set of a national leader.

“Folks, making money for your investors, as Romney did very well, is not the president’s job,” he said. “The president has a different job.”

Going by Obama’s job performance, it would appear that the job is to play golf, take lots and lots of vacations, bow to foreign leaders, and campaign. He rarely positions himself as President Of the USA. He mostly acts as a thin skinned dictator who brooks no disagreement.

But, Biden is kinda right: nothing qualifies anyone to be the most powerful person in the world. Some, though, have a better shot at being successful because of their backgrounds. Someone who has dealt with running a big company, who understands how the economy really works, and has been responsible to hundreds, if not thousands, of people, plus has experience being the governor of a State certainly has a better chance of not be a stuttering clusterf*ck of a miserable failure than a Marxist community agitator.

The President and his minions have to do something, anything, to get the argument off of the President’s own job performance. Their re-election argument has boiled down to, “yeah, we suck, but the other guy is worse.”

If there is a correlation between plumbing and the presidency, this would be verified by:

[Jimmy] Carter was the first American President born in a hospital, and he was raised on his family’s farm outside the small town of Plains, Georgia, where the family home lacked electricity and indoor plumbing.

Most of the plumbers that I know could do a far better job than the big O. I don’t think he is qualified even to shine Clinton’s shoes.

Your answer can be found in this article John.

The article relates how Obama was brought on board because members of the black community would not listen or talk to anyone that wasn’t black. Obama did nothing to bridge the racial divide, but instead kept up the racial rhetoric.

In other words, he followed the teachings of Reverend Wright, who thinks race is an overriding issue, instead of the Catholic Church who doesn’t see race, but only people.

  7. Which of the following better suits someone to serve as president of the United States in dealing with our current economic crisis?

Equity Trader: Someone who monitors markets based on financial data and research and invests accordingly. If investments are wise, equity trader retains position with potential to advance within the company. If investments fail, equity trader must consider another field, such as community organizer or adjunct college professor.

Community Organizer: Someone who works to advance social and economic justice, as they or others define justice, by developing grassroots campaigns. There is little opportunity for advancement unless community organizer has a chance to run for public office.

Plumber: A skilled tradesman who knows how to keep the pipes flowing when the crap backs up.

  8. I’m still not quite sure what the heck John was writing, GT.

Probably the plumber, Rich. Might be a change from the well connected politicians in having someone who understands real life.
