NASA Thinks You’re Stupid: Global Warming Could Cause More Snow

They just can’t help themselves

(The State Column) A newly released study finds that less snow in the Arctic could result in more snow in the U.S.

According to a study released Monday in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the U.S. could face colder and more snowy winters as northern trade winds shift south.

“The recent decline of Arctic sea ice has played a critical role in recent cold and snowy winters,” writes the study’s lead authors, Jiping Liu and Judith Curry of Georgia Tech. “Pronounced loss of ice may alter atmospheric circulation patterns.”

And how’d they come to this conclusion?

The model projections paint a portrait of increasing ecological change and stress in Earth’s biosphere…..

Again with the computer models. Which have failed spectacularly in predicting the future so far. But, the Warmists could care less: their object is control and money, so, they tell us a scary story about how warming creates more cold and snow.

So……….. this has, could, and will, only happen in “recent” times? It never happened in the millions of previous “decline in Arctic sea ice” times?

I love how we depend and demand so much from us just based on what a computer spits out.

  2. Of course. Hot causes cold. And hot. And, hell, I’ll blame you driving a fossil fueled vehicle for my contacts getting dirty.

Global warming and the reduction of ice in the polar latitudes can lead to changes in global wind circulation.

However these effects can be overwhelmed by day-to-day weather patterns and individual storms.

I am a “supporter” of AGW and am a meteorologist but I don’t think articles like the above help the public understand the complex issue of climate change, its feedback cycles, and normal weather cycles.

  4. Yes, it can. I’m not disagreeing. That said, NASA’s point is that it is the sole fault of mankind, rather than any sort of natural cycle.

But, it is very easy to understand: Warmists tend to rely on computer models with little real world research, create a doomsday scenario, and, no matter what happens, blame it on Mankind. So, give them more money so they can do more research.

Know what else could lead to those same changes? Cooling. The earth is a dynamic system.

What the heck is a “supporter” of AGW?

Does that mean that since you are a meteorologist, then you get paid to be a “supporter”? Are you a part-time “supporter” ?

And then you say its complex. Sounds like you nailed it bud. winds blow, there’s day to day weather, and then some individual storms.. and.. things change.

VOILA.. we have a “convert” !!!!
