Windfarms Are Horrendous Says…..Greenpeace Founder Patrick Moore

Bet you didn’t see that one coming

(Climate Realists) Southwestern Ontario’s flourishing wind energy industry came under fire Wednesday from the co-founder of Greenpeace.

Dr. Patrick Moore told more than 1,000 area farmers the industry destroys more jobs than it creates, and causes energy prices to climb for all users.

“The industry is a destroyer of wealth and negative to the economy,” said Moore, speaking at the 19th annual Southwest Agricultural Conference at Ridgetown campus of the University of Guelph.

Moore, who now refers to himself as the “sensible environmentalist,” said the solar bubble has burst and thinks the wind bubble is about to burst. (snip)

“They are ridiculously expensive and don’t work half the time,” he said. “And no matter how many are built, they won’t replace coal, gas or hydro or nuclear plants, because they are continuous and wind is not always reliable.”

And therein lies the problem: when it is too cold, they shut down. When it is too windy, they have to be shut down. When there is no wind, they don’t turn. They kill lots of birds. They are loud. They provide little power. They industry would collapse without government money. And, what becomes of them when they rust away, leaving monuments to idiocy?

Yes, I am still for wind power, but, I’ve always maintained that the focus should be on small size projects, preferably to provide energy for individual domiciles, where batteries could store excess power.

Oh, and look, the Golden Eagle is imperiled due to wind farms.

  1. Word says:

BINGO!!!!…..laughing out loud at this. That is why the AGW movement is nothing but a way to turn the world into one giant communist nirvana by a bunch of whackos who have no clue.

Those leading the movement have a clue though…….

Its called, wealth, power, strength, and greed.

The AGW movement is of 3 groups. The haves, the have nots and those on the outside looking in…..but in the end its about wealth redistribution and an ill conceived way to try and extort money from wealthy nations and skim a bunch of it before it hits the poorer nations who will then spend it building palaces for their emperor who murders his citizens when they cry out in hunger.

The only thing I think will work with wind is individual wind turbines for homes. It will never replace all the energy needed, but it will reduce power demands on the power grid itself.

  3. I’d love to see more aimed at single home/small complex usage, reducing the load. It is feasible, with current battery technology, and would be a personalized solution, rather than a 1 size fits all. Add in more water turbines, as well.
