Sharks attacks are up because of humans. Know why?
An apparent increase in shark attacks may well have a human cause, with low-cost air travel but also over-fishing and possibly global warming among the hidden suspects, say experts.
See, it can’t just be because of over-fishing, dumping animal carcases off of ships (that’s in the story), putting more people in range of sharks as they go to beaches where they may congregate (take a look at overhead shots of beaches in the Caribbean and Florida, for instance), all the noise people make at the beaches, etc. No, globull warming has to be thrown in, even though you have a better shot at being hit by lighting. Caused by someone driving and SUV, of course.

What’s frustrating isn’t that the government is investing in alternative liquid fuels. It’s that, national security be damned, we’re barking up the wrong energy tree: All the data point to ethanol being a climate dead end. And it’s a dead end that’s eating our food. Yet the government finds ways to keep the money flowing towards ethanol. It’s truly the boondoggle that just won’t die.
When a site like Grist starts calling out Obama and the ethanol supports, including their bogus use of ethanol use as national security, you know it’s truly dead.
Please tell me there has been an increase in shark attacks this year in the waters surrounding Martha’s Vineyard.
(Okay, that’s a cheap shot. Sorry.)
Obama’s been jumping the shark since day one, so I don’t think he has anything to worry about.
News that we now use more corn for ethanol that food. And we wonder why food costs are going up and more and more people are on food stamps.
but hey, at least food stamps creates jobs.
