Norway Killer Was Obviously A “Right Wing Extremist”

Anyone think the AP would term the guy an Islamic extremist or left wing extremist if he was?

The 32-year-old suspected of massacring at least 80 young people at a summer camp and setting off a bomb in downtown Oslo that killed at least seven is a mystery to investigators: a right-winger with anti-Muslim views but no known links to hardcore extremists.

Public broadcaster NRK and several other Norwegian media identified the suspected attacker as Anders Behring Breivik, a blond and blue-eyed Norwegian who expressed right-wing and anti-Muslim views on the Internet. Police have the suspect in custody.

You know why he is a right wing extremist? He owns several guns and belongs to gun clubs! I suspect that, like with wacko Jared Loughner, we’ll find out that Breivik held a smattering of leanings from all sides of the political aisle. Basically, nuts. But, they still try to make this about the right wing

(A police official) said the attacks appeared to be the work of a lone madman, without links to any international terrorist networks. The attack “is probably more Norway’s Oklahoma City than it is Norway’s World Trade Center,” he said referring to the 1995 attack on a federal building in Oklahoma City by domestic terrorists.

Despite the fact that the Oklahoma City bombers had way more in common with the left than the right. CBS gleefully entitles their article Police: Norway suspect a right-wing extremist

Norwegian media reported that the suspect belonged to an extreme right wing group, calling himself a “nationalist,” and had at least a Glock pistol and machine gun registered in his name. He allegedly ran a company, GeoFarm, involved in farming “vegetables, melons, roots and tubers,” and would have had access to chemical fertilizers used in bomb-making.

Wait, isn’t it a main tenant of nationalism that the State is of primary importance? Then there is the part about collective identities which are socially constructed? And that everyone should hold the same ideas, and brooks no dissent? Sounds rather leftist to me.

This guy wants to speak, and it will be interesting to hear what he has to say as to his motives and beliefs.

The only people who are EVER called out because of their religion or political leanings are Christians and Conservatives. If they mentioned that about leftists and Islamosupremacists every time they did something, they would have no time for anything else. Once in a blue moon they get a nice fat pitch to hit out of the park. And they hit it again and again. And I think that when all is said and done they will find that their assessment was a tad premature.

  2. Time will tell. Of course, there is world of difference between right wing in Europe andRW here in America.

The man called himself a conservative. He was anti-immigration, pro-business, and believed in individualism over state control. His Facebook profile and everything he wrote clearly stated that he was a conservative Christian. He blatantly stated, in a 1500 page manifesto, that he felt the need to kill in order to get his conservative beliefs out.

It’s fucking pathetic that you’re actually trying to claim he was a leftist. It’s not even upsetting, it’s just overwhelmingly sad that a person like you would stoop to such a level because you want to support your political “team”. If believing the sky is green would benefit team red, people like you would enthusiastically note what a pretty shade of green it is. You can disrespect logic all you want, but have some fucking respect for yourself.

  4. You liberals sure have reading comprehension problems. I did not say he was a leftist/liberals. I said he also had leftist/liberal leanings, as well as extreme far right leanings. Again, like the guy who shot Gabby Giffords and the other people, he has mixed up all sorts of political ideologies, and is not representative of either.

He said he was not religious. Also, he is against capitalism… how the hell did you get he was a conservative christian? Fucking liars
