While I prefer Michele Bachmann to be the GOP presidential candidate, I’m under no illusion that our candidate will probably be Mitt Romney, even if Rick Perry jumps in (you’d be wise to pick Bachmann as your running mate, Mitt). He’s a good, middle of the road Republican who will appeal to the moderates and squishes. Many of us are going to have to hold our noses and vote for him, because the alternative would destroy this country. And, I think Mitt realizes he has to appeal to Conservatives, too, which is why we get

The GOP presidential candidate signaled the reversal to one of the Obama administration’s top environmental policies during a town hall meeting Thursday in Derry, N.H. This came about six weeks after he acknowledged during a campaign stop that global warming is real, a statement that won him praise from Al Gore.
“I think we may have made a mistake,” Romney said Thursday in response to a voter’s question about EPA regulating air pollution from coal plants under the Clean Air Act. “We have made a mistake is what I believe, in saying that the EPA should regulate carbon emissions. I don’t think that was the intent of the original legislation, and I don’t think carbon is a pollutant in the sense of harming our bodies.”
Mitt probably does believe in anthropogenic global warming, much like President Bush 43 did, which is fine, he’s entitled to his beliefs. What he isn’t entitled to is to force his beliefs in a fake science on the country, and, I think he gets that. I don’t believe that he is triangulating or, well, lying. Mitt does tend to speak what is on his mind, and rarely pulls punches. He stands up for his convictions. As long as he doesn’t push them on the rest of us.
Too late! Those of us with political experience remember Bush, Bush II, Dole, McCain, and the rest of them.

Wasn’t he one of the governors of the NorthEast states that signed on to that NorthEast Carbon Trading agreement? The one that New Jersey is now trying to pull out of because they lose money? … for some reason.
If that is true, then this is just another politician trying to say whatever he thinks will get him elected = lying to everyone.

I don’t want a moderate. We have had enough moderates and that is why we are here now.
The issue really does not matter as the “gang of six” has come up with a “compromise”. This is so scripted that it hurts and it is just more of the same. As a result, it will split the Republican ticket and give Obama the office again. The resolution will then move to the streets. I believe if we don’t get this right this time, it is the end.
Most of us do not want a squish, but, we may have no choice. And if we can keep getting real conservatives elected to congress, we can hold the squishes in check
In the primaries, I will vote for no warming alarmists, and that includes Romney. However, I’d rather have a RINO in office than Obama, though, so I would hold my nose and vote for Romney if he ends up being the candidate.
Agreed that none of us want a RINO.
But the alternative is Obama.
I do not ff’ing care WHO YOU nominate. I will vote for Bachman, Romney, Ron Paul. I do not care.

The real battle is not the White House anyway. Its congress and its the senate. That is where the legislation is made.
So Having Romney in the White House is just fine with me. Having Bachman there or Palin or whomever…..I do not care.
Whomever has my vote and support and whomever is NOT a Democrat….I do not care if they are RINO’s they are better then progressive democrats.
We need to stand for our principals but we also need to grasp reality.

Mark Levin has said he would vote for a can of orange juice if it ran against Obama. Most of us would, too, but if Mitt ends up being the nominee, I just wish he wouldn’t make it a harder choice than it has to be.
No one wants “Obama Lite”.
Word: too true. too true. In the end, despite our protestations during the primaries, we will vote Republican. That is… if the R’s turn out to vote.
