Whew! Top 10 Leading GOP Contenders Are Mostly On The “Screw The Climate” Side

Our old pall Lisa Hymas is back to inform us about 10 GOP presidential contenders, 10 different ways to screw the climate. This is a break from her normal hyperbole, typically about being a GINK (green inclinations, no kids), how having kids (known as little carbon footprints) is bad, a focus on population being bad, people being bad….unfortunately, there aren’t enough Warmists/Eco-nuts like Lisa being GINKs, because then that gene pool would be extinct in one generation.

We’ve checked out the leading (or at least famous) hopefuls for the Republican presidential nomination and found that all of them vociferously oppose cap-and-trade systems — including a few who had to flip-flop to get there. On climate science, there’s more variety, ranging from loud denial to muddled semi-denial. Get the dirt on the 10 possible candidates here.

Those 10 are

  • Michele Bachmann (decidedly anti cap and tax, and globull warming Realists. Lisa calls her “Palin without all the baggage”)
  • Haley Barbour (he’s a little squishy on CO2 regulation, but, mostly a Realist)
  • Mitch Daniels (voraciously against cap and tax)
  • Newt Gingrich (he’s definitely squishy, and has been all over the map, but, now he is pandering to the Right. And, yeah, I’ve never been a big fan of Newt)
  • Mike Huckabee (squishy on both globull warming and cap and tax. He’s trying to moderate his stances for his 2012 run)
  • Sarah Palin (while I’m a big fan of Palin’s, she was more in the Warmist camp prior to being a Conservative star. But, hey, maybe she learned what is really going on with “climate science,” and is now a Realist. That happened with me. I used to be a Believer, and then learned the truth)
  • Tim Pawlenty (used to be a Disciple of Gore, but, has changed his stance since 2007. Real or not real?)
  • Mitt Romney (somewhat of a Believer, but, very much against cap and tax)
  • John Thune (One of the best of the bunch: a definite Realist, against cap and tax, thinks the whole globull warming issue is a load of mule fritters)
  • Donald Trump (The Donald is not only a Realist, but, understands the dangers of all the climate legislation and what it would do to our economy. Oh, and he actually has experience being In Charge)

So, those are your 10 GOP contenders who will screw the climate. At this point, I’d usually mention something about the Alarmists failing to live the life they tell everyone else to live, but, really, this is Liberal World, and liberals need someone to not only tell them what to do, but, legislate what they should do. Like the fable lemmings*, they need a strong leader to take them over the edge. They’re followers, who simply parrot what they are told to parrot, and follow. They’re sheeple, and go where the herd dogs tell them to go.

*Lemmings do not really intentionally throw themselves off cliffs. Perhaps Disney will replace lemmings with Liberals next time.

STILL don’t care about your politically-correct paranoid fantasies, honey.

Now here’s a list of candidates I could vote for!
And and of them who cave to enviro pressure, is done in my book.
There are already ways and means to keep our country clean and environmentally sound. I don’t want to see any new legislation and I sure as heck don’t want to hear a word about Cap & Trade. Not. One. Word. It’s a job killing, nation crippling, business hating venture, and any candidate who wants to employ it, is anti-growth.

  3. Fortunately, Mojo, she has no kids and no plan to have kids, so, she won’t pass her insanity on to future generations. Though, she does try to interact with her friends’ kids, and screw them up.

Great points, Trish. The more I read about Bachmann, the more I like her. She is real, she says what is on her mind, and she doesn’t triangulate her policies to match current trends.

Of the rest, Thune, Daniels and Trump are my leaders. I think Palin would be best off running for Congress. I think she missed a big opportunity with the last Alaska senate election. Barbour could do well, but, he can be rather RINO on some issues, but, he is a fantastic administrator.

Teach the earth is getting warmer. This is a NATURAL ocurence because of the increase in greenhouse gases. Deniers of global warming seem to think that it is caused by supernatural forces God or some Magic Man as they have yet to give any scientific reason for the increasing temps. And of course if you can’t win with the facts, attack the messengers. You seem to think that until ALL people who believe that the climate is changing are riding bicycles and eating tofu that it means that the scientific arguments are all wrong. Teach why do you continue to support the wacko saudis who still have not accepted that that the climate has changed because of AGW? The US Navy believes in AGW The Israelis do and so do the Chinese. Even the Pope does lol.

  5. john says:

oh and care to take a look at the Dec emp readings in the USA? We certainly DID hear a lot about SNOW. Unfortunately for the deniers December temps near normal for Dec.Deniers always seem to latch onto isolated areas because of course overall they do realize (?) that the earth is getting warmer.

  6. John, I do believe in natural global warming, and, I even believe that man plays a small part in raising the overall temps, mostly through landfills and agriculture. I’ve said so time and time again.

And, yeah, I do believe that all the people who are whining about anthropogenic warming should walk the talk. They rarely ever seem to get beyond wanting everyone else to change their behavior, because they won’t change their own.

As far as “normal temps”, what is normal? The Earth is over 4 billion years old. The climate has changed numerous times, even going so far as snowball Earth. So, what is normal? Perhaps you can tell us what the exact temperature of the Earth should be. NASA’s own NDIC showed that 2010 was not even close to being the hottest year ever, or even being tied for the hottest. And a big portion of the heat came from 2 months, March and June, big El Nino months.

  7. mojo says:

Normal depends on your time frame.

Let’s take oh, the last million years, what say.

Over that time, there have been at least 7 “ice ages”, each around 100 thousand years long. In between, we have 10-20,000 year inter-glacials.

So, by sheer mathematical average, “normal” is a planet with huge ice caps, and glaciers sitting a mile deep in Manhattan.

  8. Maggie Mama says:

Yeah, globull warming is occurring due the rise it population and all the “natural” acts those hot bodies perform!!!

    How’s that, Teach?

    ;-D
