AGW Today: It’s Really Cold In Kenya, So, It Must Be Climate Change

You know it’s not a real science when everything supports the premise

An American heart transplant recipient who climbs mountains to demonstrate the power of organ donation has been turned back by frigid weather and loose rocks while attempting to summit Africa’s second-highest peak.

Kelly Perkins, 48, had hoped to climb Mt. Kenya’s tallest peak — Batian, at 17,057 feet (5199 meters) — but the six-person team Perkins was climbing with turned back after passing 16,000 feet (4,877 meters).

“The moment we made the group decision to turn back was punctuated with a combination of relief (based on my symptoms — cold and exhaustion) as well as a good dose of disappointment given my vision of standing on the summit of Mt. Kenya,” Perkins wrote in an e-mail this week.

Perkins said part of the reason her team didn’t make the Mt. Kenya summit last week was because they planned a one-day push to the top instead of a two-day effort. She also said that climate change had transformed their route up from a “once semi-predictable formation into an assortment of loose and unstable stones.”

As Tom Nelson points out, she has made frivolous fossil fueled climbing trips around the world. Exactly. How did she get to these places around the world? How much CO2 did she put out certainly flying? Do as I say, not as I do.

I see you’re STILL pushing the straw man that global warming activists want everyone to stop using all fossil fuels immediately, despite having been told the opposite repeatedly…

  2. Otter says:

By whom? a LIAR like you, ‘lil LIAR johnnie ryan?

  3. John Ryan says:

Teach do you think that this year is going to be the hottest on record ? So far it has. The US Navy still says the Arctic will be ice free in the summer by 2020. But some are still saying THE BIG FREEZE IS COMING !!!

  4. John Ryan says:

Otter is still obsessed with me he just can’t quit me. Teach seems to now think that trying to increase organ transplant awareness is a “frivolous” undertaking. I was a bone marrow donor for my sister, If her undertaking saves ONE life by encouraging someone to be an organ donor I personally would consider that enough of a carbon offset I do not think her trip was frivolous. “Do as I say not as I do ” Teach that is the old “chickenhawk” argument / You remember when the left said if you don’t join up than you should not be vociferous in sending others off to war?
Here is a link to the Kelly Perkins website. Perhaps both you and Otter may not choose to take a look at her accomplishments, but perhaps others will She has climbed a lot tuffer mountains than me

  5. John Ryan says:

oh and Teach her carbon foot print for the flight was about what yours was in 6 weeks So now let;s compare what benefits her carbon footprint gave us ( organ transplant awareness) and what benefit YOUR carbon footprint gave us ? I am still really shocjed that you would denigrate her when she is trying to show others what her heart transplant did for her, and can do for others.

  6. Reasic says:

    Otter,

Um… that first comment was me, not John Ryan. And if all you have is ad hominem, then you must have no substance. Way to prove your ignorance.

  7. Bunny Colvin says:

I think that Screech might be trying to get his blog “Banned in ‘colored’ Kenya”, so that he can add it to his stupid list. I’m guessing that he doesn’t know much about Kenya’s economy, either. After all, it is a prerequisite for him not to understand the economy of the country in question to make the list.

Maybe he thinks that organ donation is “junk science” too.

  8. John Ryan says:

Otter just can’t stop thinking about me. He is like my own internet stalker. REASIC STOP TRYING TO TAKE HIM AWAY FROM ME !!!

  9. Otter says:

Reasic / bunny~ we’re not quite sure WHO you are anymore. Are you Sure you are not ‘lil Liar?

  10. John Ryan says:

Teach if you had read the article and new anything about climbing you also would have realized that because the top was NOT frozen the footing was bad and slowed them down. If it had been just 5 degrees colder they probably would have been able to summit in the time they had allotted and would not have been exposed to teh cold FOR AS LONG AS THEY WERE

Squatter- I realize that this may be hard for someone of your intellect to understand, but Reasic, John Ryan and myself are three different people. I assure you that there millions of folks who see things differently than you do. The three of us happen to be a few of them. I’m sure that I don’t agree with these two on everything (notably some of JR’s comments on Israel), but I think it is safe to say that for the most part, we are in agreement. This does not mean that we are the SAME person. It means that three DIFFERENT people are smarter than you.
