AGW Today: Concord Bans Bottled Dihydrogen Monoxide

Don’t forget, Dihydrogen Monoxide

  • is called “hydroxyl acid”, the substance is the major component of acid rain.
  • contributes to the “greenhouse effect”.
  • may cause severe burns.
  • is fatal if inhaled.
  • contributes to the erosion of our natural landscape.
  • accelerates corrosion and rusting of many metals.
  • may cause electrical failures and decreased effectiveness of automobile brakes.
  • has been found in excised tumors of terminal cancer patients.

And banning it should solve all the problems with globull warming!

The town of Concord has banned the sale of bottled drinking water in town beginning in 2011.

“We only have one planet and I just don’t want to see it spoiled,” said Jean Hill, who introduced the measure at Concord’s Town Meeting.

The measured passed by Concord would allow the sale of refillable containers of water, which could still be sold and delivered in town. Only plastic bottles that companies cannot reuse would be banned.

Wait for it

“Water is something we can get from the faucet. You can’t turn your faucet on and get soda,” said Selectwoman Virginia McIntyre, explaining why other plastic bottles would not be banned.

So, yet another worthless symbolic gesture aimed at globull warming. How do we know? Well, first, that it is almost always the reason the alarmists do this. It rarely is about “gee, all that plastic is bad for the landfills”, except as a by product of the climate alarmism. Second

Supporters say the production of plastic water bottles uses 17 million barrels of oil each year. The beverage industry opposes the measure.

Humorously, the Town isn’t sure they can actually enact the ban, per state law. But, they passed it anyway.

Elsewhere, globull warming is being blamed for the crystal ball possibility of new Arctic species due to loss of of sea ice. And, no, they do no consider this a good thing.

In a related story, the town of Concord announced a ban on muskets and lead.

“Muskets are clearly dangerous in the hands of the population,” said bill sponsor Ima Torie. “Only the government should be able to have such dangerous weapons.”

Co-sponsor George “Red” Coates supported the bill because of the noise restrictions. “They’re just too darn loud,” Coates said. “People should realize that there is no need for such things. If someone is coming to take your property, you should discuss the situation with them. People need to learn to see the other side of the argument.

The town of Lexington is expected to take a vote on a similar bill in the next few weeks.

Citizens against the new law are planning a rally to be held in the park between the towns of Lexington and Concord. It is unclear whether the government will have a presence at the event or will issue a permit for the event. Organizers have set up a Twitter page to alert citizens of police and military presence in the area of the protest.

“We’re not sure if they (the government) is going to come by ferry or by the highway, but we’ll be watching for them,” said spokesman P. Revere.

The water in New Orleans is a known toxin. Has been that way since the 60’s. It causes bladder cancer in those that consume it for 10 years. Can Concord vouch for the quality of their tap? If not, then they are forcing people to consume a poisonous substance.

I thought that the right was all for local rules ? You know like when local school systems don’t want to teach evolution.

Bay area Concord? Not the one with the “shot heard round the world”?

FYI, it is (or was) the home of the Concord Naval Weapons Station, one of the largest warhead storage facilities on the west coast.

But sure, let’s worry about bottled water, what the heck.

    mojo,

The town that enacted this law is Concord, Mass.

    Ryan,

Towns do have some rights to enact laws.

We, of course, have the right to point out the lunacy, hypocrisy, and stupidity of said laws.

I understand that there’s one heck of a fine for detonating a nuclear device inside the city limits of Berkeley, CA

Not sure who’d get paid, though.
