Former Vice President Al Gore and his wife, Tipper, have added a Montecito-area property to their real estate holdings, reports the Montecito Journal.
The couple spent $8,875,000 on an ocean-view villa on 1.5 acres with a swimming pool, spa and fountains, a real estate source familiar with the deal confirms. The Italian-style house has six fireplaces, five bedrooms and nine bathrooms.
As Doug Powers, sitting in for the Devine Miss M, points out: Gore doesn’t seem too intimidated by the imminent rising oceans his fellow enviroscammers keep predicting. What a brave soul!

Teach the problem of rising oceans will not affect Montecito during the lifetime of Al Gore. Does Al Gore have a bigger carbon footprint than you or I ? Of course he does. BUT the problem of green house gases is not caused by the very wealthy who are so few. This is just another one of your typical ad hominem attacks. Why not save your scorn for the US Navy which says that the Arctic Ocean will be ice free in the summer in 20 years ? Afraid of attacking them ?
John, as the others have pointed out, Gore is a complete hypocrite. He expects everyone else to live a certain way, but, not himself, oh, no. He wants everyone else to scale back, think about what they are doing, and make those wise decisions. Oh, wait, no, he doesn’t, in reality. He talks a good game, but, in the end, he wants everyone else to purchase carbon credits, in which he is heavily invested in. He wants them to pay out the nose to listen to him speak. And he wants to be known as Mr. Environment. I used to respect him quite a bit for his environmental stances, and, as I have written before, I voted for him in 2000. Nowadays, he is simply a cult leader who expects everyone else to give everything to the cult, living on scraps, living in huts, riding bikes, etc and so on, while he lives high on the hog.
Even the Dem Underground folks are calling him on this.

The apparent position you are taking on is that the Navy is saying that the Artic ice will disappear.
Only problem is that they are not saying that at all. The report given to the Navy is using the same data that has long been discredited. Even so, the Navy has begun to train as if there was no Artic ice cap as well as train for the Artic cap remaining in place.
The difference between Gore and the Navy is striking. Gore is demanding that others do what he will not. The Navy is preparing either way and not demanding anything of anyone.
Only an idiot would try to say that Gore’s actions and hypocrisy are the same as the US Navy’s preparation for whatever may come.
