Internet Liberal Bloggers Meet Obama’s Massive Bus

So, yesterday, the gay and lesbian community had an equal rights march. In all seriousness, good for them. All Americans deserve equal rights. But, no one deserves more rights than any other group. But, what did the Obama administration supposedly say about gay bloggers?

NBC just did a piece about today’s gay rights march in Washington. For the political context of the gay community’s ire, NBC went to Chief Washington Correspondent John Harwood. Harwood was asked if the White House was worried about “the left as a whole,” and concerns they have that the White House isn’t doing things that “the left” expected them to do. Harwood said the following:

Barack Obama is doing well with 90% or more of Democrats so the White House views this opposition as really part of the Internet left fringe.

Harwood then went on to say:

For a sign of how seriously the White House does or doesn’t take this opposition, one adviser told me those bloggers need to take off the pajamas, get dressed, and realize that governing a closely divided country is complicated and difficult.

As Gay Patriot points out, this is second hand information passed on by a journalist, and we do not know who the advisor is, nor what the actual quote was. That being acknowledged, does anyone believe that the White House might not believe what Harwood passed on? This is an administration that looks at groups and says “how do we pander to them, use them, get them to vote for us, then ignore them?” John Aravosis thinks some in the White House should be fired. Well, John, what about the guy who is making the policy? The guy you were complaining about as dismissive of gay liberal bloggers? The guy who “knifed your community less than 24 hours after his little HRC campaign speech.” You know, Obama?

Interestingly, there is not a lot of outrage in the lefty blogosphere. Only a few sites. Of course, that could be because it is early, the original AMERICAblog News story was at 725pm, and it was a Sunday night.

Speaking of the Washington march, good thing there was no astroturfing or anything

Teach could you explain why this march is considered to be “astroturfing” by yourself ?
