AGW Today: Washington Post Joins The Extreme Chicken Little Brigade

Proving once again that climahysterics are more interested in scaring people than providing a balanced are real assessment of what is happening with the climate, Washington Post propaganda puppet Juliet Eilperin provides the most idiotic climate story of the week

Climate researchers now predict the planet will warm by 6.3 degrees Fahrenheit by the end of the century even if the world’s leaders fulfill their most ambitious climate pledges, a much faster and broader scale of change than forecast just two years ago, according to a report released Thursday by the United Nations Environment Program.

So, no matter what we do, even implementing the most extreme climate alarmist plans, temps will go up 6.3 F? This isn’t science, it’s visiting Madama Zelda at the carnival, asking her to give prediction after a combination of crack and Bacardi 151.

….The increase is nearly double what scientists and world policymakers have identified as the upper limit of warming the world can afford in order to avert catastrophic climate change.

Actually, it is usually more than triple what respectable scientists believe could, and I stress could, happen, and, since when are world policy makers considered reliable sources for climate guesses?

Other findings include the fact that sea level might rise by as much as six feet by 2100 instead of 1.5 feet, as the IPCC had projected, and the Arctic may experience a sea-ice (free?) summer by 2030, rather than by the end of the century.

I assume Juliet forgot the word “free” in that paragraph, and the idiots have been making these ice free predictions for years, which keep failing to come true, but, anyhow, 6 feet of sea rise? The report is apparently bad science fiction wrapped around scare mongering, and probably an attempt to get some nice grant money. Jumping back up to the second paragraph of the story

The new overview of global warming research, aimed at marshaling political support for a new international climate pact by the end of the year,…….

So, not science, but politics. Heck, even the NY Times noticed that temperatures have been stable for a decade and may even drop.

  1. John Ryan says:

Teach the hottest year on record was 2005 How can you say that temps have stabilized ? August was the second warmest combined land-sea temps in the last 130 years .http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/sotc/?report=global
We also had the 3rd lowest area of sea ice coverage in the arctic. But you keep insisting that temps have stabilized ? And the last decade has been a time of a cool dim sun ?
