In Pain? Forget Pain Killing Shots Under Government Health Care

During the August recess, I’d love to have everyone ask their Congress Critters, at least Democrat ones, as they are leading the charge to a government run single payer health – using the word “care” just doesn’t seem right - system, one question, and make them answer: “how will this plan reduce costs?” I suspect that the only answer is “denial of care.” Rationing. Denial of services. Denial of treatments. Denial of operations. Just witness the way other countries, such as Britian, deal with their government run plan

The Government’s drug rationing watchdog says “therapeutic” injections of steroids, such as cortisone, which are used to reduce inflammation, should no longer be offered to patients suffering from persistent lower back pain when the cause is not known.

Instead the National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) is ordering doctors to offer patients remedies like acupuncture and osteopathy.

Osteopathy?

Osteopathyis a form of drug-free non-invasive manual medicine that focuses on total body health by treating and strengthening the musculoskeletal framework, which includes the joints, muscles and spine. Its aim is to positively affect the body’s nervous, circulatory and lymphatic systems.

Why does the word “Scientology” come to mind? There are certainly dubious aspects of this “holistic” treatment method. As someone who has had cortisone in the past (massively shattered ankle and both bones in my lower leg snapped), I’d up for the drug treatment, rather than wait around in pain. And, I’m sure we all know someone who has had treatments like cortisone in the past. But, suck it up, buttercup. Get used to being stuck with needles and chanting to ease your pain away.

Specialists fear tens of thousands of people, mainly the elderly and frail, will be left to suffer excruciating levels of pain or pay as much as £500 each for private treatment.

That’s around $846 American. Sure, some American plans do not cover some treatments and exams. Mine didn’t cover seeing a TMJ specialist, would have had to pay $450 out of pocket. But, never heard of one that didn’t cover basic treatments. But, hey, these people are old. Their usefulness is over. They are just taking up space and money that could be used to indoctrinate the next generation and turn them into Good Little Government Workers. Till they get old, then, to heck with them. Just die already, this is Government Run Health System.

The NHS currently issues more than 60,000 treatments of steroid injections every year. NICE said in its guidance it wants to cut this to just 3,000 treatments a year, a move which would save the NHS £33 million.

And that’s how they save money. Rationing.

the single largest cause of personal bankruptcies in the USA is because of health care costs. MOST of the people who went bust had insurance but were under insured. What is the cap on your policy ?
