Dear Leader’s Poll Numbers Continue To Go Down

He is quickly learning that being an actual leader, a job he had never held till 1/20/2009, and pushing one’s agenda is not as easy as a good campaign speech

Heading into a critical period in the debate over health-care reform, public approval of President Obama’s stewardship on the issue has dropped below the 50 percent threshold for the first time, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

Since April, approval of Obama’s handling of health care has dropped from 57 percent to 49 percent, with disapproval rising from 29 percent to 44 percent. Obama still maintains a large advantage over congressional Republicans in terms of public trust on the issue, even as the GOP has closed the gap.

Perhaps it could have something to do with him trying to slam through a major, huge, giant, all-encompasing vision that will fundamentally change to America’s health insurance and health care system, with unknown, but gigantic, enormous, massive costs, and people are getting worried that it will work about as well as his Stimulus package.

On the flip side, we apparently have too many grasshoppers in this country

On health care, the poll, conducted by telephone Wednesday through Saturday, found that a majority of Americans (54 percent) approve of the outlines of the legislation now heading toward floor action. The measure would institute new individual and employer insurance mandates and create a government-run plan to compete with private insurers. Its costs would be paid in part through new taxes on high-income earners.

The breakdown is huge among the parties. 75% of Democrats and 60% of Independents back the basic plan, while 75% of Republicans oppose. On one side you have people who want nanny to take care of them, and the other side is comprised of adults who want to take care of themselves.

Dear Leader is also tanking on the economy, and people are saying that he needs to chill on the spending. And those who make $50,000 or more are now starting to realize that they were sold some snake oil by that gent who said they “looked like a smart young man.” Buyers remorse.

Buyers remorse ? Sorry Teach more people approve of Obama now, than voted for him. That seems to show that some people who did not even vote for him think he is doing a good job. Teach are you against socialized medicine for vets ? for children ? for seniors ? Exactly whom do you think in America should not get g ood health care ? And remember the AMA supports Obama care, the insurance companies do not. Who are you going to trust with your health ? your doctor or your insurance company ?

His approval rating is 59% 10% more than the number that elected him. Only 37% disaprove, looks like a lot of people who did not vote for him do not disaprove of the way he is doing his job. Looks like your spin just does not hold up well. Again.

    John,

which poll are you looking at? I follow Rassmussen’s poll, which I think are generally the most reliable along with Zogby. The latest Rasmussen poll puts the Dear Leader’s approval rating (people at least somewhat approving) at 50%

and the tracking of those strongly approving has dropped to 30%.

Is John a troll? I cannot believe he reads and posts here, what since he disagrees with every little thing you post!
John, I have seen the polls too, and they are declining. My goodness man, you cannot change facts, oh and that includes AGW…

53% of Americans voted for him in 2008. As far as being a “Troll” well I guess that would depend on how you choose to define that word. If everyone who does not agree with you 100% is a troll than yes I guess I am
