Iraq Today: Aziz And Chemical Ali Guilty, Plus, We Won

They won’t be doing that ever popular short drop and a sudden stop, but

Iraq’s highest court has sentenced former deputy prime insister Tariq Aziz and “Chemical Ali” Hassan al-Majid to 15 years in jail for crimes against humanity.

Rather short sentences, but, there is justice. Considering their ages, they will probably die in jail.

Despite the controversy surrounding the conflict, Major General Andy Salmon said that the servicemen and women who had been killed in Iraq since 2003 did not die in vain.

Gen Salmon declared “mission accomplished” for British forces, adding that now was the right time to return to the UK.

Gen Salmon, a Royal Marine Commando, who first served in Iraq 18 years ago, also said he believed that the insurgency had been defeated.

He added that the Iraqi Army now held the “monopoly of violence” and the power vacuum, which had been exploited by the militias, had now disappeared.

Sorry, liberals/progressives/surrender monkeys, you did not get your wish for surrender in Iraq.

    Gen Salmon declared “mission accomplished”…

Hmmm… Where have I heard that before? 😛

  2. And the mission of the USS Abe Lincoln was accomplished, and every time you and other leftists try and pull this out of your butts, you demean the service of the men and women who served on the Abe.

  3. Reasic says:

Oh, right. That was meant just for the Lincoln. You really are delusional. In Bush’s speech, he declared an end to major combat operations in Iraq, not an end to the Lincoln’s mission. The vast majority of casualties then occurred after this speech. Please don’t try to rewrite history so that it better suits you.

Teach, I can still see the images of the gassing of the Kurds (BLISTER/CHOKING gas was used) when our USAF aircrews saw the actual intel film prior to Operation Desert Shield… Kurds, children, babies and pets were dead in the streets and in their wagons, cars… Thank GOD Saddam Hussein was hung. But only a few of US get it right!
    Saw a bumper sticker today:
“HONK IF I PAY YOUR MORTGAGE!”

  5. Thanks for playing “how can I smear the military,” Reasic. You really are disgusting.

Oh, right. Criticizing Bush = smearing the military. Is this a bad joke?

Maybe it’s YOU who is really disgusting, by playing “how can I patronize the military and hijack their mission to demonize my political rivals”. Pathetic. You really should consider growing up.
