AGW Today: Glaciers To Kill Us Inch By Inch

Time to take a break from the exciting Joe Bide…..zzzzzzzzzzz. Huh? Oh, and delve into the insanity of anthropogenic global warming. This looks fun

In northern Greenland, a part of the Arctic that had seemed immune from global warming, new satellite images show a growing giant crack and an 11-square-mile chunk of ice hemorrhaging off a major glacier, scientists said Thursday.

And that’s led the Ohio State University professor who spotted the wounds in the massive Petermann glacier to predict disintegration of a major portion of the Northern Hemisphere’s largest floating glacier within the year.

If it does worsen and other northern Greenland glaciers melt faster, then it could speed up sea level rise, already increasing because of melt in southern Greenland.

They do understand it is summer, right? Things get hot in the summer and melt.

“It certainly is a major event,” said NASA ice scientist Jay Zwally in a telephone interview from a conference on glaciers in Ireland. “It’s a signal but we don’t know what it means.”

It means that Mankind is destroying Gaia! Bad Mankind! Must go back and live like it is 800AD. Oh, wait, isn’t that what the Islamic extremists want, too?

It is too early to say it is clearly global warming, Zwally said. Scientists don’t like to attribute single events to global warming, but often say such events fit a pattern.

Really, the only logical response to that is “Bullshit!” Quite a few of them do, as do all the Climahysterics driving around in their own SUVs because they themselves can’t afford to change their lifestyles. But the rest of us should, darnitall!

But, I wonder how much the sea has risen?

The oceans are on average about 6.3 inches (16 centimeters) higher now than in 1930, when they started a noticeable upward climb.

First, the 1930’s was pretty much the hottest decade of the 20th century. 2nd, the Little Ice Age ended around the 1850’s, so, sure, things will melt as it gets warmer. 3rd, I’d like everyone to get out their tape measure (or sewing stick for the liberals out there,) and take a look at 6.3 inches. Scary, eh?

During the warmest intervals, called interglacial epochs, sea level is at its highest. Today we are living in the most recent interglacial, an interval that started about 10,000 years ago and is called the Holocene Epoch by geologists.

Sea levels during several previous interglacials were about 3 to as much as 20 meters higher than current sea level.

For those who refuse to learn that French measurement stuff, that is 9.84 to 65.62 feet. And Climahysterics are worried about 6.3 inches. But still won’t change their lifestyles to match their rhetoric.

You have stated the livestock industry is responsible for what you believe to be the most damaging anthropogenic greenhouse gas (methane). Have you stopped eating meat, Teach?

  2. No, of course not. I’m not worried about it. Warming comes and goes, and Man is only a small percentage of any warming.

What about you? Changed your lifestyle yet?

How much of a percentage is man causing and how do you know this? Even if man is a small percentage how do you know man is not tipping the scales?

What about you? Changed your lifestyle yet?

Yes, I drive a lot less. I use more efficient light bulbs. I recycle more…etc.
