$45 Trillion To Solve Global Warming!

The enviro-weenings are a going to be torn

TOKYO – The world needs to invest $45 trillion in energy in coming decades, build some 1,400 nuclear power plants and vastly expand wind power in order to halve greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, according to an energy study released Friday.

The report by the Paris-based International Energy Agency envisions a “energy revolution” that would greatly reduce the world’s dependence on fossil fuels while maintaining steady economic growth.

So, the enviro-weenies want to save the Earth from the dire threats of anthropogenic global warming, but, they hate nuclear power, and often demonstrate and block wind farms because they are a danger to birds stupid enough to fly into them.

I certainly agree with building new nuclear power plants and wind farms. Setting aside the man made global warming idiocy, they are much better for the environment then oil and coal based plants, not to mention providing more power for the buck, and the overall reduction in power costs. But, it won’t happen anytime soon. Too many people will block it.

“Meeting this target of 50 percent cut in emissions represents a formidable challenge, and we would require immediate policy action and technological transition on an unprecedented scale,” IEA Executive Director Nobuo Tanaka said.

A U.N.-network of scientists concluded last year that emissions have to be cut by at least half by 2050 to avoid an increase in world temperatures of between 3.6 and 4.2 degrees above pre-18th century levels.

In case they missed it, there was something called the Little Ice Age, where the temps supposedly dropped around 4 degrees below average. So, if we are talking about 3.6-4.2 above pre 18th Century levels, wouldn’t that be average? I wouldn’t mind seeing a cut in the smog emissions from vehicles, though. Better for the air quality.

Perhaps the Climahysterics could start the savings by walking the walk? Na, never happen.

this is about 1% of the total Gross National Product of all of the countries.
Well Gore now has a totally green house is that “walking the walk” ? and again Teach when the left tried to use the “chickenhawk” argument you know the “why didn’t you enlist to fight the Islamic foe” those on the right said that wasn’t a fair argument.
AS far as I am concerned everyone should do some no one is expected to do all to stop global climate change.
During the “Little Ice Age” cooloing is thought to have been confined to the Northern Hemisphere and totaling about 1 degree The Little Ice Age (LIA) was a period of cooling occurring after a warmer era known as the Medieval climate optimum. Climatologists and historians find it difficult to agree on either the start or end dates of this period. Some confine the Little Ice Age to approximately the 16th century to the mid 19th century. It is generally agreed that there were three minima, beginning about 1650, about 1770, and 1850, each separated by slight warming intervals.[1]
It was initially believed that the LIA was a global phenomenon; it is now less clear if this is true. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), based on Bradley and Jones, 1993; Hughes and Diaz, 1994; Crowley and Lowery, 2000 describes the LIA as “a modest cooling of the Northern Hemisphere during this period of less than 1°C,” and says, “current evidence does not support globally synchronous periods of anomalous cold or warmth over this timeframe, and the conventional terms of ‘Little Ice Age’ and Medieval Warm Period appear to have limited utility in describing trends in hemispheric or global mean temperature changes in past centuries.”[2] There is evidence, however, that the Little Ice Age did affect the Southern Hemisphere.

From Wiki? Well aint that somethin’ wow!

Color me underwhelmed as minutia is redefined again.

There is no such thing as stopping global climate change either here or on Mars. The sun is always going to have the final say on man’s foolish notion that he is powerful enough to “Stop Global Climate Change”! That said I am for pollution controls (and China should step up to the plate in that regard).

The financial scam of the carbon hoax, precedes all the arguments that uninformed fools will carry on about as they spin around in endless circles screaming, the sky is falling, the sky is falling!

As the cycles of nature do what they do and cycles of politics follow suit, balance will eventually be attained but, it will come from a clear and logic based mind and the solid grasp of reality. This too shall pass….

  3. In 10 years, the climahysterics will be yammering on about how the global warming caused it too get colder.

In 10 years, the climahysterics will have a greater and real issue to be concerned with and it shall have zero to do with climate. Sadly they will/have spent their credentials and even thought they might yowl the right warning, it will be for the wrong reasons, ergo no impact, when they could’ve done something for a change that would’ve been useful and worthwhile.

They are already dead but it does not show.
