So, What Do We Do With Club G’itmo Vacationers?

Of course, we all know how those on the left have clammored incessently, irrationaly, hystericaly (did you know there are no synonyms for that word?) and pure seethingly, to close Guantanamo Bay terrorist detention center. Not for any legitimate reasons, mind you, but, simply because they hate George W. Bush. They can rap it up in cute talking points, such as “returning habeaus corpus” to the vacationers, who aren’t American citizens, of course, and the cute one “it’s against the Geneva Convention,” which they can never qualify with facts (which is the same way they defend abortion on demand, embryonic stem cell research, and Darwin.) Now we find out

The US is “stuck” with the Guantanamo Bay detention centre even though it wants to close it, Defence Secretary Robert Gates has said.

Mr Gates said the US wanted to send up to 70 prisoners home but countries would either not take them or could not be trusted to.

Mr Gates told a US Senate hearing: “The brutally frank answer is that we’re stuck. We have a serious ‘not in my backyard’ problem.

“Either their home government won’t accept them or we’re concerned that the home government will let them loose once we return them home,” he said.

“What do you do with that irreducible 70 or 80 who you cannot let loose but will not be charged and will not be sent home?” he asked.

The article highlights that 36 vacationers were let loose, and returned to their terrorist ways. It’s funny how the left says that they support the actions in Afghanistan, and that we should have not gotten “distracted” by Iraq, yet, all the people in G’itmo were captured on the battlefields of Afghanistan. Go figure.

Human rights groups have long argued for its closure, saying it does not meet international legal standards.

Apparently, the legal standards say that you are not allowed to serve orange chicken and rice pilaf. Gruel is the only acceptable food source. I’d like to see what the G’itmo vacationers would do to the human rights groups members if they ever got them alone. An unbeliever is an unbeliever.

Meanwhile, perhaps the human rights groups and other G’itmo naysayers will take the vacationers in to their homes? Perhaps Sen. Di Fi

Democratic Party Senator Dianne Feinstein told Mr Gates: “Nothing you have said absolves the enormous loss of credibility we have in the eyes of the world.

“We are being called hypocrites, that we have double laws, laws for some, and no laws for others.”

Will Di Fi take one or two in? Maybe find some housing for the rest in San Francisco? No? They do not want them? Too dangerous? Color me surprised!

BTW, last time I checked, Di, we treated our prisoners well. Perhaps you should read up on what al Qaeda members do to their captives.

    OBAMA IN 2008 & OSAMA IN 2009!!!

… how about a few jihadi stragglers to Ted Kennedy’s retreat in Martha’s Vinyard?

  3. I always liked the idea of dropping them off on some god forsaken island off the coast of Alaska with some wood, nails, and hammers, saying “have a nice life!”
