NY Times Attacks Redneck States Over Execution Ruling

Apparently, in Grey Lady Land, it is only Southern States which actually execute people for crimes

Executions in Texas, Alabama and other Southern states with large death rows are likely to resume shortly in the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision Wednesday upholding Kentucky’s method of putting condemned prisoners to death.

But the fractured decision may actually slow executions elsewhere, legal experts said, as lawyers for death row inmates undertake fresh challenges based on its newly announced legal standards.

“The decision will have the effect of widening the divide between executing states and symbolic states, states that have the death penalty on the books but rarely carry out executions,” said Jordan M. Steiker, a law professor at the University of Texas.

George H. Kendall, a lawyer with Holland & Knight in New York who is an authority on capital litigation, said the effect of the Kentucky decision, Baze v. Rees, “is going to vary greatly.”

“I bet you by this time next week there will be execution dates in Texas and Alabama,” Mr. Kendall said. “But nothing is going to happen very quickly in California at all.”

They look at it as being us evil Southerners in our Flyover States just doing our redneck stuff, taking away the lives of murderous pedophiles and gangbangers who might write a book about children and be nominated for a Nobel Prize, when it was that cop who was murdered who was at fault.

Personally, I look at the death penalty as a way of removing people who committed a hideous crime from the gene pool, so they can no longer commit horrible crimes. You know, something that the Framers of the Constitution approved of doing.

But, this is typical Leftist dogma: Southern States are full of yahoo’s and inbreds who do not have compassion, are into the revenge thang, and are just plain mean and intollerant of people who have murdered (after sexually assaulting) a child. Why aren’t you rednecks rehabilitating this person?

In Conservative World, our compassion is limited to the victim, the victims family and friends, and the people that could be murdered by the perp if released.

I also see it as a point of pride that we take care of mad dogs. There are also plenty of Union States that have, and use, the death penalty. But, most executions take place in the South, and will continue to. Why waste prison space on scum? Tell ya what: if those in Northern Liberal World love people on death row so much, what say we transfer them up to your prisons?
