Guess What This Photo Is Supposed To Imply

Over at Crooks and Liars (which I have always thought is an apt name for a liberal blog), a seething cauldron of progressive insanity (OK, I know, most of the left-o-sphere is the same way), last nights open thread post features this photo

Any guesses as to what it is supposed to imply? And which several commenters picked up on? If you dare, scroll down to comment #12, among others.

  1. Guess What This Photo Is Supposed To Imply…

Over at Crooks and Liars (which I have always thought is an apt name for a liberal blog), a seething cauldron of progressive insanity (OK, I know, most of the left-o-sphere is the same way), last nights open thread post……

    Looks like a metal detector.

But they support the troops, right?

You see what you want to see, I suppose. What a bunch of asswipes.

They have no conscience nor God…

  5. RA says:

This is an American soldier planting a bomb on a child who will meet B. Hussein Obama at the airport. The Iraqis are willing to pitch in to defeat evil in the world. LOL

  6. Gotta love the blame America crowd. There are no lows they won’t stoop too.

  7. Scrapiron says:

An American soldier just made two new friends.

Scrapiron has it on the button.

Look at the smile on the boy behind the girl. It’s pretty obvious that the kids asked the same question any child this age would ask, “What’s that do?” or “How does that work?” The result was a small demonstration.

If, as the wingnuts over at C & L seem to think, intimidation was the intention, would the soldier do a hunker to be face to face with the little one? Or would he stand upright and lord it over the mini-person before him?

The commenter (#12) at C & L probably checks beneath her/his bed before going to bed at night and opens each closet door to be assured there are no monsters lurking anywhere in her/his room before turning on the nitelight and going to sleep.

  9. You are right on the money, Joated and Scrapiron. Best explanations I have seen.
