Good News! Climate Change Will Cause Pythons To Kill Us

Well, not really kill us, but, apparently they are are hopping on airplanes and flying to the USA (again, I exagerate, but, one has to have fun with a story like this)

As climate change warms the nation, giant Burmese pythons could colonize one-third of the USA, from San Francisco across the Southwest, Texas and the South and along the Virginia coast, according to U.S. Geological Survey maps released Wednesday.

The pythons can be 20 feet long and 250 pounds. They are highly adaptable to new environments.

Those are the first two paragraphs of the USA Today article. Are you worried, disturbed, or scared yet? That is the intention, most assuredly. And you know who is at fault, right? Man. We created global warming, it never happened before the past few decades, and it will kill us all.

If the 250 pound, 20 foot long Burmese pythons don’t get us first!

    Man. We created global warming,

I didn’t see anywhere in the article where they blame global warming on man. The only thing blamed on man in this article is the fact that these pythons have been transported to the United States and then released into the wild by owners who didn’t want them anymore.

it never happened before the past few decades,

Forest fires happened in the past too but that doesn’t mean some aren’t caused by man now. You have to look at all the current evidence not just the past.

That the earth is currently warming is a fact which even you don’t dispute. That means that certain regions in the United States are now more favorable to some species than they may have been in the past. Blaming this article on “climhysterics” is a real stretch (no pun intended). 🙂

  2. I think you are missing the humor, Silke.

How can you miss something that isn’t there to begin with?
