Global Warming Has Killed Nessie

I’m not sure if this should be under the humor or global warming category ( Warner Todd Huston at Stop The ACLU)

LEGENDARY Nessie hunter Robert Rines is giving up his search for the monster after 37 years. (snip)

Despite having hundreds of sonar contacts over the years, the trail has since gone cold and Rines believes that Nessie may be dead, a victim of global warming.

Gawdalmighty, Climahysterics really are truly insane. I wonder if they understand that it was considerably warmer during the time of the dinosaurs? Eh, that wouldn’t help with the narative.

More in today’s global warming news: “Cold wave in India attributed to global warming.” I sh*t you not, that is an actual headline. Is there nothing that global warming doesn’t cause?

Oh, and that big ball of blinding light in the sky?

In her lecture series, “Warming Up to the Truth: The Real Story About Climate Change,” astrophysicist Dr. Sallie Baliunas shared her findings Tuesday at the University of Texas at Tyler R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center.

Dr. Baliunas’ work with fellow Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics astronomer Willie Soon suggests global warming is more directly related to solar variability than to increased levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, an alternative view to what’s been widely publicized in the mainstream media.

But, you know, she must be in the pay of Big Oil, or Big Coal, or something. Anything to avoid addressing her findings.

  1. Silke says:

Teach, what study has Dr. Baliunas published on her findings concerning the Sun and is it peer reviewed?

  2. John Ryan says:

Teach are you going to watch National Geographic’s program on global warming or do you consider that organization to be part of the hoax ?

  3. Why don’t you read the article and look it up, Silke? I cannot do all your research for you. Was “An Inconvenient Truth” peer reviewed, what with all its countless mistakes? Is “consensus” peer reviewed?

Yes, I did watch it, John. It was interesting, if somewhat irresponsible. I love NG. Remember, I never said it was not happening, just that I believe that Man is not the primary cause.

  4. Silke says:

No an Inconvenient Truth is not peer-reviewed, which is why I don’t ever refer to it. The IPCC’s studies are peer-reviewed, however. In fact they go through an even more rigorous process.

I understand your point about the Sun, Teach, but I have never seen you cite a study that shows the actual data. What is the change in the Sun’s output that would account for the change in the Earth’s temperature? Shouldn’t that say something about your opinion on this subject – that you are willing to accept information without looking at the actual study or data itself?
