The Band Get’s Their Grammy

Some of y’all may be too young to be hip to The Band, but, damn, one of the best live bands and one of the most influential of the time period. The were awarded a lifetime achievement award at the Grammy’s

 

Actor Tom Hanks announced the honour.

“Somehow these four Canadians and a guy from Arkansas came to define musical Americana like no other group before or since,” Hanks said, referring to keyboardist Garth Hudson, singer/songwriter Robbie Robertson, the late Richard Manuel, the late Rick Danko and American Levon Helm.

    I remember watching The Last Waltz as a young kid. My mom made us watch it and I actually loved it.
    Yes they are a very good band. I never really thought of them as leftists. He;;, I really don;t care what they are they played good music.
