TTLF: SCOTUS To Hear Voting ID Case

Seriously, only in Liberal World can you have people pitching a fit over someone being able to prove who the hell they are in order to vote, something which can change the course of America, anywhere from our local politics up. Yet, these same liberals have no problem requiring Grandma Wendy to show her ID several times, take her Mules off, and have the wire in her bra searched just so she can take a well deserved break at the meca of terrorism, Palm Beach

With the 2008 elections on the horizon, the Supreme Court has agreed to rule on whether an Indiana law that requires voters to have a government-issued photo ID is a security necessity in the post-9/11 world or some sort of partisan plan to suppress voter turnout.

"The Supreme Court will now have the opportunity to right a wrong perpetrated by the GOP as a broader effort to make it harder for some Americans to vote," Donna Brazile, chair of the Democratic National Committee Voting Rights Institute, said in a news release.

Donna is correct: we do want to make it harder for some Americans, particularly those who are dead, underage, non-human, born in a different country in North and South America, those who are stone cold felons, and, if we could, Toofers.

I mean, geez, you are supposed to show an ID when you use your credit card. When you make a deposit at the bank. When you check in to a hotel (except for the ones Bill Clinton checks in to, of course.) You are required to have a drivers license for another great American past time, driving.

At the center of the controversy is Indiana Public Law 109-2005, which states that before casting a ballot, a voter must show an identification card that displays a photo of the person and his or her name (which must conform with registration records), contains an expiration date, and was issued by the state of Indiana or the U.S. government.

Oh, such a burden!!!!!!!!

Anyone who does not have a driver’s license or passport can obtain a free ID card from the state’s Bureau of Motor Vehicles after producing a birth certificate or another form of acceptable identification.

See, they are even offering socialized ID’s. What a chance for Indiana liberals to put some hate Bush rhetoric on those cards

Even if a person is "unable or unwilling" to present a photo ID on Election Day, the law states that he or she may cast a provisional ballot, as long as the individual produces a photo ID or a reason for not having one to the county election board within 13 days.

Of course, if this was a bill to make it harder for deployed soldiers and sailors to vote, the Democrats would say it was just "speaking truth to power."
