Bottle Water Now Causes Global Warming

Man, this is going to really upset all those libs carrying around bottled water in the cup holders of their SUVs

SAN FRANCISCO — Citing environmental concerns, Mayor Gavin Newsom has issued an executive order prohibiting city departments from buying bottled water.

In a decision announced Thursday, Newsom said the ban would take effect July 1 and extend to all city and county water coolers by Dec. 1.

Tony Winnicker, spokesman for the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, said Newsom’s decision would save taxpayer money and combat global warming.

More than 40 million gallons of oil are needed to make the plastic water bottles Americans purchase each year, according to data cited in the mayor’s announcement.

How will yuppies survive without their bottled water? The horror! The outrage! The silliness (at least the global warming part.)

I supposed Newsome felt that the city workers, apparently pampered (God forbid they should have to pay for their own water. Woops, sorry, not supposed to mention God in a story about San Francisco), wouldn’t buy into the premise that it costs the taxpayers quite a bit of money to pay for their trendy water.

(SF Gate) In addition to city departments, all city concessions, city-funded events and functions in city buildings will be prohibited from using city money to buy bottled water by July 1. By Dec. 1, all city departments located on city property must switch from bottled water dispensers to dispensers that attach to taps or water pipes and use water from the Hetch Hetchy Reservoir in Yosemite National Park.

Those dispensers cost about $400 each, but the city’s environmental director, Jared Blumenfeld, said that in the long run the cost will be cheaper than the $500,000-a-year bottled water bill the city currently pays.

Saying it is about global warming (snicker) allows the city workers to buy into the plan.

Let’s hear it for San Fran Sicko – where everyday is Halloween and Mardi Gras in the second hometown of Skreecher of the House Nazi Pelosi & meatballs, and the code pinko kooks! – Brought to you by Rice A Looney & The Streets of San Fran Sicko II 2007?

This is good. Now the government officials and agencies who legislate fluoride into the water supply will be forced to drink it themselves.

Fluoride is added to San Francisco’s water supply, not to purify it, but to prevent tooth decay in tap water drinkers. Modern science shows it is ineffective, harmful to health and a waste of tax dollars.

Fluoride chemicals are silicofluorides – waste products of the phosphate fertilizer industry. They are dumped unpurified into the water supply. They are allowed to have trace amounts of lead, arsenic, mercury and other contaminnts.

Studies link silicofluorides to children’s higher blood lead levels which, in turn, are linked to higher rates of tooth decay.

The statistics prove that tooth decay is on the rise along with fluoride over dose symptoms – dental fluorosis

So drink up San Francisco government officials and make sure your kids do to. If you are buying bottled water at home to protect your family, you should be protecting all San Franciscans by ending water fluoridation.

Teach, you have stated before that you believe humans may be contributing 10-15% to global warming. Where did you get this figure? And if this is true, couldn’t that mean that humans are tipping the balance? The analogy I’ve heard before is a seesaw. If you have a system (the seesaw) that is essentially in balance and you add even 10-15% to one side then that addition IS THE CAUSE.

Exactly aquatic’ites for “water purification is all about ones bodily fluids…pure…clean H2o!” – Dr. Strangelove B-52 Is OK!

  5. Shall we stop agriculture, Silke? According to the IPCC, agriculture is worse then motor vehicles.

There is always going to be some sort of influence on the climate.

Teach, please answer the questions. Where did you get the 10-15% figure? And if this is true then couldn’t man be responsible for tipping the balance? Yes or no?

The 2006 report you are referring to (Live-stock’s Long Shadow) did not come from the IPCC. It was written by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

According to the IPCC’s Fourth Assessment Report, “the largest known contribution comes from the burning of fossil fuels, which releases carbon dioxide gas to the atmosphere.”
