Someone Explain Republic To The Moonbats

Sigh

WASHINGTON — Seven candidates for the 2008 Democratic Party nomination will take part tonight in a live "virtual town hall" forum about the Iraq war, in what is being billed as the largest and most ambitious experiment yet in harnessing the power of Internet technology to reshape participatory democracy. (emphasis mine)

About 10,000 MoveOn members are expected to gather in about 950 living rooms around the country to listen to the event, which begins at 7 p.m. and will be streamed live on the group's website and broadcast on the liberal talk radio network Air America. The group will conduct a straw poll afterward among its 3.2 million members about which candidate gave the strongest answers.

Moving on from the fact that only (never)MoveOn.org folks will be participating, meaning not much in the way of actual legitimate discussion, just questions on those evil neocons, blame, and anti-Operation Iraqi Freedom hysteria, these nutballs just do not understand that the U.S.A. is not a democracy, and they have no right to actually vote directly for the President, just the people who elect the president. Matter of fact, the Founders did not even want direct election of Senators.

The big difference? A democracy is based on mob rule. A republic is based on law. Very simplistic explanation, of course, but anything deeper would be lost on the Left.

Your definition of democracy would get you an “F” in 7th grade civics

What did you expect from MoveOn.org and its moonbat crowd? Intelligence? Common sense? C’mon! That bunch is some of the most clueless sheep in the uber-liberal wing of the Democratic party.

  4. Carl says:

Pardon me…I fell in the liberal trap…that should read “Democrat party.”

  5. So, enlighten us, John. You do know we are a republic, right? Our system is not based on mob rule.

Carl, remember, it is the Defeatocrat Party 😉
