Air Deadbeat Bankrupt?

That is what Think Progress (?) is reporting, according to a tip from Jay at Stop The ACLU. You just know that this is going to somehow be blamed on the GOP and a "neocon" conspiracy.

Interestingly, I was listening to Air America Deadbeat off an on throughout the day while testing a new phone and higher speed wireless service, along with MobiRadio, and there was nary a sign that AD was in trouble and people were going to be canned left and right. Of course, considering the quality of their network, I don't know how one would be able to tell.

Brian Maloney writes at The Radio Equalizer:

What our own sources are telling the Radio Equalizer is that two potential buyers have recently been looking to scoop up Air America's assets. But internal board squabbling has created a disunited front, with some members looking to hand the network back to eccentric co- founder (and Huffington Post contributor) Sheldon Drobny, while the rest shop for buyers.

Jon Sinton, a former Air America and Clear Channel Radio executive, is said to be leading the effort to seek a purchaser.

Drobny, meanwhile, has been scrambling to figure out a way to retake the network and intends to rehire former COO Carl Ginsburg if he is successful.

This would actually be typical of the proggies (loons). People involved in starting the fiasco known as Air America trying to require it after it has failed in every possible way, in due part to their own actions or lack thereof, and now possible going to bankruptcy. They would be best off letting the thing crash and burn, and, if they really want to try again, use a real business model, like the one that has succeeded with so many other talk radio shows.

It is not just Conservatives like Rush, Hannity, Boortz, Savage, etc that have succeeded using a sound business model which incorporates excitement, fun, and an upbeat presentation with their stated material. Consider Clark Howard. He does pretty well with his material. His show sure isn't dry and unlistenable, right?

Anyhow, we will have to wait to see whether this is real, or another of Think Progress' "Rove will be indicted Friday" foul-ups. My money is on it being correct, based on what the Radio Equalizer has found out.
