Sunday Interlude: More On Duke Lacrosse

Couldn’t let this one go till Monday (via WRAL)

The Reverend Jesse Jackson says his Rainbow/Push Coalition will pay the college tuition for a black stripper who has made rape allegations against white members of the Duke University lacrosse team.

And the offer stands even if it turns out she fabricated her story.

Jackson told The Associated Press Saturday that his organization is committed to making sure the 27-year-old woman divorced mother of two will never again “have to stoop that low to survive.”

Jackson has not spoken with the woman, who is a student across town from Duke at historically black North Carolina Central University.

Goodness, so much info in 4 paragraphs. Jesse hasn’t even met her, and will give her money even if she lied? I’d ask what is in it for him, but that would be too snarky for a Sunday, much less Easter.

The woman did not have to be a stripper. That was her choice. I know and know of many people that have normal, part time jobs that pay well who go to school and are parents. She could apply for my open req for a part timer, and make good $$$.

And why does Jesse, who fights for equality, not have a problem with NCCU be predominately Black? Isn’t that racist and exclusionary?

Attorney Bill Thomas says a member of the defense team interviewed the other dancer who performed that night and she “has stated point blank she does not believe this allegation.”

Let that one stand on its own.
