Hurricanes are Bush’s Fault

No, seriously. The global warming that has apparently only occured under W (sarcasm alert on Red) is going to cause more hurricanes, at least according to billboards going up in Florida.

Because President George W. Bush has “ignored the threat of global warming,” Floridians can expect to be hit by increasingly destructive hurricanes, a new billboard campaign says.

The billboards, going up along Interstate 4 between Tampa and Orlando — a week before the presidential election — read, “Global warming equals worse hurricanes. George Bush just doesn’t get it.” The billboards show a photo of a hurricane swirling toward Florida.

Seems to Cap’n Teach that many of the “scientists” involved with this have been watching The Day After Tommorrow more then I have watched Star Wars. While TDAT was a good movie, it is pretty suspect in the science. Perhaps these scientists could deal in facts, rather then hysteria.

Who is doing this?

The campaign is co-sponsored by Scientists and Engineers for Change and Environment 2004. The NAACP National Voter Fund is also involved in the effort to blame Bush for ignoring global warming.

Nuff said, regarding the NAACP’s involvement? But what of the Scientists and Engineers for Change? Their web page seems more interested in gather money then in discussing science and engineering.
