As a woman, I want to commend you on your abject honesty in not understanding us. As a gender, if we cannot be understood, we have succeeded.

It is on my Must Read today on The Pink Flamingo!

"how taking the opposite view of your country can be patriotic"

Exactly my feelings! I don't understand why all these pro-life, America-loving patriots are so opposed to abortion! After all, abortion is LEGAL in the good, 'ol, US of A! Why can't they respect their own country and its laws, damnitt?!

I wish these anti-abortion creeps would realize that "taking the opposite view of your country" is NOT patriotic! If they don't like legal abortions, why don't they move to Afghanistan, where restrictions are among the highest in the world?! I hear they just LOVE Americans over there!

Oh wait, maybe it's because those pro-life idiots truly believe that the current state of affairs is damaging to the country and they genuinely want to make this a better place to live? Hmm...just like people who are against the war in Iraq (who, to be fair, can also be idiots). And all of this is apparently unpatriotic?

I never understood the glaring hypocrisy of republicans who are so willing to shout "get out of my country!" when someone suggests that change is necessary, but are unable to apply this logic when actively trying to adjust America themselves. The bottom line is that BOTH sides want what's best for this country, even though neither of them agree on what that is. Claiming that either side is "unpatriotic" for trying to change something that they believe is wrong in order to improve their country is just...stupid.

>>>>>people who complain about Bushlerites taking away their civil liberties and >>>>>destroying the Constitution, but then being unable to cite specific instances and >>>>>examples

Here's some examples:
War without Congress (US Troops Lives w/o Congressional Declaration), Patriot Act (privacy freedoms), Department of Homeland Security(national id card), calling himself a unitary executive (what happened to checks and balances?...I guess Dubbya is so smart we don't need other ideas clouding his Decider-ness), using mis-information on America to Justify 'BOLD' moves (freedom of press)

I just got back from Jamaica last night, so......

Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery;
None but ourselves can free our minds.

Very cool list. I am in agreement with you on many of the subjects. My title for the list would be Things That Try My Patience.
