Nice see that some people uphold the Christian religion and traditions
WILLIAMSBURG (AP) — A longtime donor to the College of William & Mary will withhold a $12 million pledge to the public university because of the removal of a cross from a campus chapel.
The donation was pledged to the campaign fund before Gene R. Nichol became the university's president and was revoked because the donor disagreed with Mr. Nichol's decision to remove the brass cross from permanent display on the chapel's altar, spokesman Mike Connolly said.
The donor was not identified.
The loss of the funds "represents a serious setback to the college," Mr. Nichol wrote in an e-mailed statement Tuesday afternoon. "While I know it is intended to make a policy statement, ultimately it only hurts our students."
Can you imagine a chapel without a cross? This was done all in the name of multiculturism, ie, taking the Christian religion out of everything even remotely public.
Mr. Nichol's supporters, however, say no cross was displayed in the chapel's early history. They also say the school, which has been public since 1906, is obligated to make people of different faiths feel comfortable.
How about making people of the Christian faith feel comfortable? No one ever seems to worry about that, eh?
I knew lots of people of the Jewish faith growing up. Matter of fact, my grandparents on my Mom's side were Jewish, though they weren't much in the way of practitioners. None of them seemed to mind Christmas, nor coming to our house when a Christmas tree was up.
Nowadays, it is the secular progressives who worry more about keeping God, and, in particular, Jesus, out of everything. They do not seem to worry about keeping Mohammed out of public life, though. A religion based on violence, repression, and degradation of women. That one is A-OK for them.

Part of the reason for this is that Secular Progressives feel threatened by Christianity’s notions of Sin, Repentance and Forgiveness.
I would almost be willing to bet that a lot of them are simply backsliding little “c” Christians. They were raised in the Christian faith, but don’t accept it themselves so they feel the need to suppress the reminders of it wherever they can.
Maybe the cross was removed to placate one donor and then they lose money from another donor for rmoving it. If they put it back up, the previous donor’s contribution was smaller.
Actually, the cross was removed by Mr. Nichols in an effort to be more “inclusive” and politically correct. This case has a long history.
Previously groups using the sanctuary that did not want the cross displayed could ask that it be removed to a locked cabinet. Mr. Nichols’ decision was to keep it locked up all the time and to require groups that wanted it present (the primary users of the chapel) to request that it be unlocked and brought out.
William & Mary is the second oldest colleges in our 230-year history! At Boston College, my fellow Roman Cadillacs removed the crucifixes from their classrooms as well to appease the Liberal $ecular Progre$$ive$! Notre Dame allowed the Vagina Monologue$ on campus as well. Now you know why we opted to send our children to Red State Universities further
south!

Why is Nichols still at William & Mary? If my actions were to cost my employer 12 million dollars my butt would be on the street in minutes.
I don’t care if the school has been public since 1906. Why and by whom was it founded? It wasn’t a secular school then.
Obviously the history of the school means nothing. Very sad.
