EPA Head Scott Pruitt Could Be In Trouble For Wrongthink

Some get upset when I refer to anthropogenic climate change believers as being part of a cult. Part of being a member of a cult is refusing to allow any divergent viewpoints, while sticking with a narrow, rigid dogma that they’ll use to persecute non-believers

EPA head Scott Pruitt may have broken integrity rules by denying global warming

Well, this is a new one.

Scott Pruitt, the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), is under investigation by his own agency for misstating the basic scientific consensus on human-caused global warming.

Turns out that providing misguiding scientific information to the public isn’t a cool thing to do, after all — even in the Trump administration.

Why?

But Pruitt may have crossed a legal line when, during an interview on March 9 with CNBC’s “Squawk Box” morning show, he denied the reality of human-caused climate change, contradicting findings published on his own agency’s website.

“I think that measuring with precision human activity on the climate is something very challenging to do and there’s tremendous disagreement about the degree of impact, so no, I would not agree that it’s a primary contributor to the global warming that we see,” Pruitt said, when asked if he thinks carbon dioxide emissions are the main “control knob” on the planet’s climate.

Wrongthink! How dare anyone disagree with the scientific political consensus?

The policy also states that policy makers “… Shall not knowingly misrepresent, exaggerate, or downplay areas of scientific uncertainty associated with policy decisions.”

Of course, what Pruitt did is the opposite: he acknowledged there’s a scientific uncertainty. And committed Wrongthink. Which, in Warmist World, is an offense requiring jail time.

Really, if the Cult of Climastrology was so certain of it’s conclusions, they wouldn’t be afraid to debate, nor to attempt to persecute people with differing views.

    Ignorance

It’s kind of like a Chairperson of the Department of Biology at a major university saying that there is no scientific consensus on biological evolution. The school would be working to get rid of her.

No, it’s like a Chairperson of the Biology Dept. at a major university saying that although biological evolution is the accepted science there are many holes in the theory and other possibilities regarding the development of animals, and as scientists we do not close our eyes to other possibilities, we leave that to the brainwashed political leftists and other foolish cultists.

Closing ones eyes to other possibilities and ideas is not what intelligent people do. And the dumbest motto ever coined by the left is “settled science”. That’s what one of the many, many things that makes them #FakeAmericans. Like this “true believer” genius of democrat pedigree.

    Nonstory.

    Reuters reports:

The White House is exploring a value-added tax and a carbon tax as part of a planned tax code overhaul, The Washington Post reported on Tuesday, citing an unidentified administration official and a person briefed on the matter.

The new tax options are being considered as a way to raise money as President Donald Trump’s administration looks for ways to pay for his promised cuts in middle class and corporate taxes. Administration officials told the newspaper no final decision has been made and they are reviewing alternatives.

We don’t buy it… On the other hand his massive tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations WILL add trillions more to the debt, so why not enact taxes on the working classes to make up the difference? It IS the Republican way. Maybe trumpy is dumb like a fox.

    Rev,

Here’s the question: Do you think the theory of evolution will be falsified in the future? It’s possible but the likelihood is very, very low. Would you care to point out the greatest holes in the theory of evolution? Note too that scientists don’t stop research just because a theory is widely accepted – for example the emerging field of epigenetic inheritance is fascinating and modifies the central dogma of molecular biology – some say almost validating Lamarckism!! We learn a bit more each day. But even these new discoveries do not overturn the core of the theory do they? And the “threat” that epigenetics posed to evolutionary theory did not stop scientists from welcoming the new ideas, as long as the research was valid. As it turns out, evolution, as opposed to global warming, doesn’t have widespread industry opposition – the opposition to the evolution is mostly religious – accepting evolution does not cost corporations (or churches) potential billions. Some religions find it threatening, even heretical, to think that modern humans evolved from a non-human ancestor common to other modern apes.

Is there resistance to overturning an accepted grand theory? Of course! But eventually the evidence will take the day. Right now debates rage between particle and quantum physics. We still don’t understand gravity!

And so it goes with climate research (for now – until Repubs shut down gov’t research). The general theory that human generated CO2 is causing the planet to retain more heat is widely accepted by scientists, but could be falsified. It is just very, very unlikely.

Do you allow that there is even a remote possibility that the theory of AGW is true?

“Widely accepted” Which means still widely Irrelevant. You can’t beat that drum all you want, J, but it doesn’t mean a thing

Dictionary of the future: Global Warming was a popular computer simulation game, where the only way to win was not to play.

    j,

Global warming has been made politically irrelevant because the GOP has taken control of the US. You’ve won!

Of course, the climate pays no attention to twitter, and the Earth will continue to warm from the CO2 we add to the atmosphere.

Let the next generation worry about it!
