With the stroke of a pen, the president has seriously jeopardized America’s safety and standing.With his executive action suspending the admission of refugees to the United States and temporarily halting the entry of citizens from a variety of Muslim countries, President Donald Trump made a quick down payment on a key campaign promise. He also set the U.S. on a disastrous course—one that threatens to weaken our national security and diminish American global leadership.
The order signed on Friday calls for a temporary ban on visas for individuals from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Libya, Yemen and Somalia; a 120-day suspension of the resettlement of all refugees; and an indefinite ban on the resettlement of Syrian refugees.

In order to protect Americans, the United States must ensure that those admitted to this country do not bear hostile attitudes toward it and its founding principles. The United States cannot, and should not, admit those who do not support the Constitution, or those who would place violent ideologies over American law. In addition, the United States should not admit those who engage in acts of bigotry or hatred (including “honor†killings, other forms of violence against women, or the persecution of those who practice religions different from their own) or those who would oppress Americans of any race, gender, or sexual orientation.
Obviously, that’s just too much for Liberals. It should have included those from Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. What the whole order essentially does is take a pause for refugees from countries that tend to have a lot of hardcore extremist Muslims, to give the whole apparatus a chance to make sure their vetting programs work. It is an America First program. What’s more important to us? Protecting Americans from being raped by the “refugees”, or the rapey refugees?

Travelers from all over the world are screened three or more times, with their names run through databases that draw on staggering amounts of intelligence and law enforcement information. Interesting. Democrats have been telling us for decades that the “immigration system is broken”, of course, in an attempt to provide amnesty for illegals. As far as the system flagging issues, it helps when they actually check. And it’s hard to check on people coming from backwards 3rd world hellholes. What do see is that a goodly chunk refuse to assimilate. Are the Europeans checking? Look at the vast number of issues occurring in the EU from all these “refugees.”
In fact, Trump’s action has the potential to trigger violence by individuals who are already leaning toward extremism, including some with mental illness. There are more than a few people who experienced personal setbacks, including ones in which officialdom was involved, who interpreted their experience through the prism of the jihadist narrative and took violent action.
So, to prove that Trump is wrong, those Muslims who already hold extremist views will move from words to getting violent? This is the argument? Really?

By no means is this a stay of the entire order as Jeffery’s post would have you believe.

It should also be noted that in 2015, Obama signed an order banning the Vise Waver Program for people from seven countries. Those seven countries are the same countries in Trump’s EO which only last for 4 months while the policies and procedures are reviewed.

In a statement, Representative Seth Moulton (D-MA) reacted to Trump’s Muslim ban executive order by saying:

Very admirable of Rep. Moulton, I applaud him. But does that entire quote above sound like a war vet or a Rep.-(D-MA)? Moulton states he hear the troops “loud and clear” overseas but has he been there yesterday since Trump’s order was put out? No! So he’s lying to make a political point.
And when someone makes a stupid statement like:”We are a nation of immigrants,” I know he’s an idiot. We are NOT a nation of Immigrants, that’s a propaganda line from the America haters. We are a nation of CITIZENS. Immigrants can become Americans but until they do they are definitely NOT Americans. And I don’t know about you guys but I was born here, I did not immigrate. My wife did, she’s an immigrant. I’m a native American.
Also saying “America is stronger when we welcome the refugees of our enemies” does not make it so. America can be strengthened by may things but bringing refugees we need to support is not one of them. It’s good PR and it is good Christian Brotherhood but it does not add to out strength.
Finally a statement like: “These policies do not put America first. I am ashamed that he is our president” is strictly partisan, having nothing to do with and no relation to this clowns military service. In fact, it’s a sign of disrespect and action unbecoming of an officer. I’m ashamed a fellow vet would propagandize the safety and security of the United States to score points with his hate-America-first constituents.
The security of the US and the relationship of immigration to it should not be a matter of politics. It is clearly a Muslim ban. trumpy even non-strategically sliced his own throat by subsequently calling for preferring Syrian christians.
The incompetent buffoon even screwed that up. A Syrian family was turned back at the Philadelphia International. They were two brothers with their wives and children who had years ago fled Syria into Lebanon. One of the wives, Sarmad Assali and a child, Sarah, came earlier and had become US citizens. The family had started the immigration process in 2004 and all were granted status in 2015. An 11 year vetting seems pretty thorough – what more would trumpy find out by holding them for a day or two – or by sending them back? They were held shortly, not allowed to contact their US family until they were flying back. The family was sent back to an uncertain and potentially deadly future. The Assali family are Christians.
Please. If The Deplorables have any influence on trumpy please encourage him to value competence as well as ideology.
