Great News: Obama Pisses Away Another $500 Million To UN Climate Fund

How much damage can this guy do in his last few days?

(BBC News) The US government has given half a billion dollars to the UN’s Green Climate Fund, just three days before Donald Trump takes office.

Barack Obama’s outgoing administration announced the contribution of $500m (£406m; €468m) on Tuesday, bringing the total funds to date to $1bn.

Mr Obama pledged in 2014 to give $3bn to help tackle the effects of climate change in the poorest countries.

Of course, this money will go to dictators and bad guys in many areas. Well, the money that makes it out of the hands of the United Nations, which doesn’t exactly have a great track record of competence and fiscal responsibility. And, what money makes it beyond the greedy hands of 3rd world shithole developing nation leaders, will be position as being from the UN, rather than the United States.

Obama’s just throwing money that taxpayers earned with hard work away, and all for nothing.

Meanwhile, Dr. Bjorn Lomborg, who is actually a statistician, did some calculations

Danish statistician Dr. Bjorn Lomborg, the President of the Copenhagen Consensus Center, has come out denouncing the UN climate Paris agreement as a massive waste of money that will do nothing to impact climate change. In a January 16, 2017 Prager U video titled, “The Paris Climate Agreement Won’t Change the Climate,” Lomborg explains that “the agreement will cost a fortune, but do little to reduce global warming.” (Full transcript here) (snip)

“Using the same prediction model that the UN uses, I found that [Obama’s] power plan will accomplish almost nothing. Even if its cuts to carbon dioxide emissions are fully implemented – not just for the 14 years that the Paris agreement lasts, but for the rest of the century — the EPA’s Clean Power Plan would reduce the temperature increase in 2100 by just -.023 degrees Fahrenheit,” Lomborg explained. (snip)

“Now, let’s add in the rest of the world’s Paris promises. If we generously assume that the promised carbon cuts for 2030 are not only met — which itself would be a UN first — but sustained throughout the rest of the century, temperatures in 2100 would drop 0.3 degrees — the equivalent of postponing warming by less than four years. Again, that is using the UN’s own climate prediction model,” Lomborg said.

He continued: “But here is the biggest problem: These miniscule benefits do not come free — quite the contrary. The cost of the UN Paris climate pact is likely to run 1 to 2 trillion dollars every year, based on estimates produced by the Stanford Energy Modeling Forum and the Asia Modeling Exercise. In other words, we will spend at least one hundred trillion dollars in order to reduce the temperature by the end of the century by a grand total of three tenths of one degree.”

All while limiting the lives of citizens, increasing the size and scope of Government tremendously, increasing the cost of living for citizens, and stifling economies.

And, remember, many of the wackier of the Cult of Climstrology members want to push a 1.5C limit, rather than the 2.0C limit the Paris agreement is going for. The damage to citizen’s lives and that of economies would be tremendous.

where did he get the money? I don’t recall congress passing any bills for and extra $500 million for the UN. Does the president have a stash of cash ?

So he claims. His training is as a political scientist, not to be confused with a scientist.

A decade or so ago, Dr. Lomborg was censured for publishing false information in his book. He was given the chance to admit that his book was “opinion” not “science”, but insisted it was science. “The DCSD released a ruling that sent a mixed message, finding the book to be scientifically dishonest through misrepresentation of scientific facts, but Lomborg himself not guilty due to his lack of expertise in the fields in question.” LOL. So he was guilty of misrepresentation but out of ignorance, not malice. LOL. Busted!

Lomborg is a liar, but out of ignorance, so it’s OK!

We spent a few trillion dollars invading Iraq without a peep from the right. We spent a few trillion bailing out Wall Street. Tax cuts for the wealthy have added trillions to the debt.

But you’re up in arms over 0.0125% of the budget? LOL.

The world is warming from the fossil fuel derived CO2 we’re adding to the atmosphere.

    Thought you left, little guy.
Funny you should be labeling other people as liars.
Haven’t you learned your lesson, little soldier guy?

Another example of this administration disregarding the legislative process and the Constitution for a political objective…

    From your favorite….the NY TIMES:

The price of Inauguration Day and the week leading up to it could top $200 million, based on the cost of inaugurations past and estimates by officials planning the week’s events. Costs could fluctuate depending on the weather on Inauguration Day and the size of the crowd that turns out.

So the costs are not anything every other president has not shoved onto the people of the USA including Bill Clinton and Barak Obama………FOUR TIMES.

    Who foots the bill?

In bureaucratic terms, the costs are shared by the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies, the Presidential Inaugural Committee, the federal government, and state and local governments.

Put more simply: Private donors and taxpayers split the bill.

    What does Congress cover?

Congress plays a less expensive but high-profile role. The Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies, made up of leaders of both chambers, is responsible for orchestrating the swearing-in on Friday outside the Capitol and an inaugural luncheon that will follow. Congress has appropriated $1.25 million for the events.

Most of the rest of the money comes from private fund raising…..

Jeffery you really should simply do a bit of googling, or yahoo’ing which is what I do….Google is an evil empire much like Apple and I wont endorse them nor have anything to do with them at all anymore, ever again…but thats a personal peeve of mine……

  7. Jeffery says:

    Laim,

WRONG! You forgot to figure in the $100 million to be spent on security by federal, state and local authorities.

And what’s your point about other Presidents? We thought president trump was different. Teach whined about President Obama investing $500 million into global green energy, yet seems perfectly OK with $100 million of taxpayer funds for a party.

We all recognize that trump’s billionaire buddies are kicking in about half the total costs and get to dine with Pence and watch trump and his current wife dance up close.

But the infrastructure and massive security to support all this pageantry is being paid for by you and me.

  8. Hank_M says:

The security costs wouldn’t be so high if the left wasn’t intent on disrupting it with juvenile protests.

    Oh, so now it’s investing?

    Clueless as usual, little guy.

So the clueless little guy would prefer less security?
