Bummer: New Hospital Would Be “Out Of Sync” With Ontario Hotcoldwetdry Plan

Warmists even have problems with hospitals that will help citizens

(Windsor Star)  The farm field location selected for Windsor’s proposed mega hospital is out of sync with the province’s new Climate Change Action Plan, members of Citizens for an Accountable Mega-hospital Process said Friday.

“In fact, the mega plan makes a mockery of (the action plan’s) goals,” said Philippa von Ziegenweidt, spokeswoman for the group. About 40 CAMPP members marched along Tecumseh Road East outside Windsor Regional Hospital, carrying signs that urged passing motorists to “Re-Think the Mega-Plan.” They want the new hospital built on “brown field” land within the urban core of Windsor, rather than on 60 acres of agricultural land on County Road 42 across from Windsor airport. (snip)

Hospital officials are waiting for the province to approve the next phase of planning for the project. But von Ziegenweidt said it’s “out of sync” with the recently released climate change action plan, which states that “Ontario is fully committed to complete, compact communities.” It urges against urban sprawl, to protect farmland and reduce carbon emissions from all the extra driving, and promotes cycling and walking.

  1. John says:

Teach that new hospital is 20 miles from downtown Windsor
That climate change policy calls for “compact communities” not more urban sprawl that makes it difficult to access the hospital
