Trump: Say, Did Obama Mention Pearl Harbor While In Japan?

It’s obviously a rhetorical question as Obama continues his apology tour

(CNN) Donald Trump on Saturday questioned why President Barack Obama didn’t mention the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor during his trip this week to Japan.

“Does President Obama ever discuss the sneak attack on Pearl Harbor while he’s in Japan? Thousands of American lives lost. #MDW,” tweeted Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee.

Well, no, of course not. Nor did Obama mention all the Japanese atrocities. Nope, apology tour

Obama did not publicly mention the surprise 1941 attack that pulled the U.S. into World War II while on his historic trip to Japan this week, during which he became the first sitting U.S. president to visit Hiroshima. He used the visit to discuss the threat of nuclear weapons.

“Why do we come to this place, to Hiroshima? We come to ponder the terrible forces unleashed in the not-so-distant past. We come to mourn the dead … their souls speak to us and ask us to look inward. To take stock of who we are and what we might become,” Obama said during his visit to the city’s Peace Memorial Park.

How about who we were. A country that was attacked without a declaration of war in a sucker attack. A nation that thought it better to drop the two atomic bombs to attempt to force Japan to surrender, rather than continuing the island hopping to Japan, then having to bomb the daylights out of the nation before and during an invasion that could see hundreds of thousands killed, with our eye on the primary concern for the Americans that would be killed.

It’s insane that, because of this reckless fool’s visit to Japan, we have to actually re-litigate what happened in 1945, when those two bombs were dropped. Obama called dropping the bombs a mistake, as part of an overall speech

The only mistake was Japan attacking the United States of America. As President Truman stated

Sixteen hours ago an American airplane dropped one bomb on Hiroshima and destroyed its usefulness to the enemy. That bomb had more power than 20,000 tons of TNT. It had more than two thousand times the blast power of the British “Grand Slam” which is the largest bomb ever yet used in the history of warfare.

The Japanese began the war from the air at Pearl Harbor. They have been repaid many fold. And the end is not yet. With this bomb we have now added a new and revolutionary increase in destruction to supplement the growing power of our armed forces. In their present form these bombs are now in production and even more powerful forms are in development. (snip)

We are now prepared to obliterate more rapidly and completely every productive enterprise the Japanese have above ground in any city. We shall destroy their docks, their factories, and their communications. Let there be no mistake; we shall completely destroy Japan’s power to make war.

A president with backbone.

    Our top negro is apologizing!

Obama called dropping the bombs a mistake, as part of an overall speech

As part of an overall speech? LOL. What do those weasel words mean? “In so many words?” LOL

Did he call dropping the bombs a mistake or not? Or did he use the word “mistake” somewhere in the speech.

    Did he apologize?

Our billionaire running for president took advantage of the World Trade Center Business Recovery Grant program, getting $150,000.

What a greedy, grubby little putz. What a man.

Pay the taxpayers back, Donald. You can take it off your taxes. Oh, that’s right, you don’t pay taxes – that’s only for poor people.

    Hey stormfront!

Since Mr. Trump is all about making the economy better, especially for the working poor, why are only working poor white folk supporting him? Black Americans, hurt more by a bad economy than any other demographic group, are flocking away. What about his message don’t they believe?

Trump tells it like it is! He just happens to “tell it like it is” to white guys and about Blacks, Mexicans and Muslims!

Make America Great (for White Guys) Again!

That’s a question Republicans have pondered since the sixties: the black vote has simply not been available to Republican candidates, in any race, at any level. It was a Democratic President who pushed the Voting Rights Act and the initial Civil Rights Act, but more Republican senators voted to pass those bills than Democrats. The Democrats have very successfully pushed the meme that Republicans hate blacks, even though it isn’t true.

However, you’ve inadvertently hit upon it: when you wrote “working poor white folk,” you differentiated them from nonworking people. Republicans have been opposed to the expansion of the welfare state, as they should be, and that has cost them any real chance among the black population; working blacks know too many people in their own neighborhoods who do not work, and have more sympathy for them than they should.
