Illegal Aliens Trot Out Their “Bill Of Rights”

Instead of being humble and telling us how much they want to be part of this great nation, they make more demands. The article is also available over at the Washington Times, except there are zero links

(WND) The pro-amnesty “United We Stay” nonprofit has created a “Bill of Rights for Undocumented Americans” demanding the country read and agree to its list of 10 demands, which are all based on the presumptive claim of all – even illegals – are human and therefore entitled to citizenship.

The group’s Marcelino Jose writes: “Since Congress refuses to act, it’s time we take matters into our own hands. Our Undocumented Americans’ Bill of Rights is a good start. Instead of making impregnable border security the beginning and end of all immigration discussions, let’s find a real roadmap forward.”

What do they want?

Among the group’s list of 10 demands:

The first: “Acknowledgment that we are already here, that we are human beings with a right to be, that our mere presence cannot be deemed illegal or our existence alien.”

Another: “Affirmation that we are to be treated with dignity and respect, not just because of who we are, but who you are – historic beneficiaries of immigrant struggles for the freedom to be.”

And another: “Recognition of our right to be presented with a path to citizenship/residency as the first priority of future immigration policy combined with interim deferment of all law-abiding Undocumented Americans against detention and deportation.

And a fourth: “Guarantee of wage equality with a legal right to petition for wage theft or workplace mistreatment without jeopardizing our immigration status.”

And another: “Assurance of humanitarian treatment, including medical care.”

It boils down to “gimmee!!!!!!!”

From the Washington Times article

The list of rights begins with a protest against the terms “illegal” and “alien.” Immigrant-rights advocates say both terms are dehumanizing, and have offered “undocumented workers” or, in the case of United We Stand, “Undocumented Americans,” as their preferred term.

Well, if they do not want to be called a “dehumanizing term, they should go back to their home country and apply for citizenship like so many other people do. It’s really simple. The very fact is if they weren’t so obnoxious and demanding, if they would respect America and Americans, if they would learn to speak English, if they’d stop wanting everything given to them on a silver platter, things might be different.

“our right to be presented with a path to citizenship”

Since when do foreign nationals of any stripe have the “right” to become US citizens? They may certainly apply for that privilege, but it is by no means a right, especially to those who have already broken our laws.

  2. Mike says:

“Acknowledgment that we are already here”

Hmm. That could be done with a deportation hearing!

  3. Jl says:

So much wrong here it’s hard to know where to begin. “Affirmation that we be treated with dignity….” You’re a criminal. You’re taking away jobs from Americans. You’re a drain on the welfare system. But you demand respect. Got it. How about respecting the immigration laws of the United States? “We want to be called “undocumented Americans”. Small problem- you’re not Americans. As said before, then we’ll call the person burglarizing your house an “undocumented visitor”, make sure we treat him respect and dignity, and give him wage equality- though he’s well on his way to that already because he’s got half your wife’s jewelry in his pockets. Calling them future undocumented Democratic voters would be much closer to reality.

might be different… but I doubt it. The Right-wing authoritarian leaders and their devoted voters followers are not nearly as charitable as you appear to be in that sentence.

  5. david7134 says:

    jeff,
What is your evidence for the presumption that conservatives are not caring or desiring to help others? You have none, it is just one more example of your bigotry and hate. Why is it that you don’t want US citizens to have access to the jobs that are being taken by people here illegally? Why do you want to give our welfare dollars to non-citizens when they could get the needed assistance in their own countries?

  6. jl says:

Criminals residing in the U.S. demand dignity, respect, wage equality, and Orwellian ctach-phrases (undocumented visitors), but yet the right-wing has “authoritarian leaders” (curiously, never saying what’s supposed to be authoritarian about them). Lame.

  7. mojo says:

When all your wishes magically become “rights”…

Tell me, what would happen to a US citizen who moved to Mexico without so much as a tourist visa, bought a big house on the ocean and set up a business?

    Yup. 10 years, minimum.

  8. Jeffery says:

What is your evidence for the presumption that conservatives are not caring or desiring to help others?

Conservative opposition to Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, unions, the ACA, gay rights, voting rights, civil rights, immigrant rights; Conservative support for Citizens United, income/ wealth inequality, unlimited access to firearms, voter suppression, flat taxes, the wealthy, segregation. Conservatives care for and help the wealthy and powerful at the expense of all others. Conservatives care for and help white, straight Christians at the expense of everyone else.

Why is it that you don’t want US citizens to have access to the jobs that are being taken by people here illegally?

What evidence do you have that this is a significant issue? US citizens DO have equal access to these jobs. Why can’t American citizens compete with hard-working Mexicans when it comes to roofing houses, picking strawberries, bussing tables, butchering chickens and vacuuming hotel rooms? Don’t you believe in free markets?

How do you feel about the H-1b visa system? EVERY YEAR over 100,000 highly-compensated foreign workers are brought in to reward American corporations and universities. These highly paid professionals are taking jobs that Americans could be trained to perform. (Of course, the AMA keeps foreign physicians from easily competing with American physicians).

Why do you want to give our welfare dollars to non-citizens when they could get the needed assistance in their own countries?

What evidence do you have that this is a significant issue? Anyway, it’s because some people here need our help. Conservatives seem to prefer loading them into boxcars and dumping them over the US-Mexican border. Or maybe throwing them into the ocean.

  9. Berzrkr50 says:

The only right that these dregs have is the right to be deported. You came here uninvited by breaking the law and you want to be rewarded with freebies? I don’t think so…

The dishonest, discredited, odious and often illiterate Jeffery writes:

The lack of critical thinking here is astonishing. Because Conservatives think that some programs are an overreach of the government, that means we are not compassionate.

You can’t argue with that lack of logic.

Of course people like Jeffery love those programs as it means that people are more beholding to the government. The party of slavery needs more slaves which is why Jeffery supports the programs.

  11. Jeffery says:

    guttercreepers never change.

  12. david7134 says:

    Jeff,
Lets just hit a small part of what you went on about. Republicans challenged the LBJ over reach on Medicare because they said in would be broke in 50 years. It is now 50 years and it is broke. Medicaid, I don’t know of any serious opposition to helping the poor, only the fact that the program sucks as it does not pay and seems to leak money to the politicians. Flat tax???? The conservatives are pushing that, graduated income taxes are a communistic concept, you should love it. The ACA???? It is a total failure and is dramatically changing the insurance of everyone, to the worse. I can’t get procedures on my patients thanks to Obama. Wealth inequality, what is that? How is it bad, what happens when you try to correct it — revolution.

Then on the AMA, it is a horrible organization, but totally lacks in power. It actually wants foreign doctors. Why do you want foreign doctors??? Here is were you need to learn something, study, go to school, read. You have no concept of what your desires would result in.

The more you comment, the more it is obvious you don’t have a clue.

  13. Jeffery says:

Medicare is not broke, any more than Social Security is broke, any more than America is broke.

What are the conservative solutions for healthcare? So far it’s been to leave Americans at the mercy of the market. Why do you think Medicare was instituted? The far-right response is that it allows big gov’t to take more control of the people. An alternative explanation could be a market failure whereby old, sick Americans could not afford the cost of healthcare on their limited incomes. The far-right response is “tough-shit”, they should have planned better.

The total cost of healthcare in the US is almost $10,000 per person. When I was a highly-compensated scientist at a Fortune 500 drug company, I received Cadillac Bentley level family health insurance that directly cost me very little (my company received tax breaks to pay for my health care – the government was subsidizing a wealthy person’s healthcare!). Who was subsidizing the health care of the single mom with two kids? Medicaid if they were lucky.

The liberal solution to health care is a single payer (gov’t regulated insurance) program. This is similar to the health care systems of Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Israel, Japan, Norway, Finland, Iceland, New Zealand, etc All spend significantly less per person AND deliver better care to more of their citizens.

What is income/wealth inequality? It’s in all the papers. It’s when a rigged economic system such as ours allows productivity increases to accrue to the wealthy. The rich are getting richer and workers have flat incomes. Why is this happening. Union busting, international “trade” deals, the fed keeping unemployment too high, tax policy…

It’s not the government’s fault that you get caught prescribing unnecessary procedures to skim more money.

Even an accomplished foreign-borne physician has to pass American Boards and English fluency AND be accepted to a US residency program! And this even as we have a physician shortage, especially in family medicine.

    Jeff,
I am sorry, I had to recover from the stomach pains from laughing when you said you were heralded in the Fortune 500. If this is true, the bar is definitely low. In reviewing your spew, I would suggest that you have an enormous hate. Why this is true is anyone’s best guess, but it most definitely prevents you from seeing reality and critically analyzing any given subject. I have worked with and trained hundreds of foreign doctors and can assure you that their abilities, sense of ethics and every other aspect of their professional being can not compare to the average American trained physician, they even admit such (and for the bad in case you try your stupid word play). All the countries you list as having single payer insurance are in trouble with their systems and do not provide the same level of care as here. You complain about the excess cost of American medicine, are you not aware that we have been under price controls for 20 years??? And, I see no evidence of the government helping the wealthy, except under Obama as he has unloaded trillions to support the markets and thus help his broker and banker buds. Now, our social programs are broke, you can’t paint that pig in any other manner, as to other means of helping people with medicine, yes, I can do that over night— get the idiotic government out, they increased the cost and regulations add at least 30% and don’t do a thing other that over burden the system.

  16. Jeffery says:

    dave,

I am sorry if you think I wrote that I was heralded anywhere. I did not. I worked for a major pharmaceutical company for 20 years. But I’m pleased to hear you hurt yourself. It’s been my experience that conservatives read what they believe rather than what is written.

Your hatred of foreigners and Blacks always comes through loud and clear – what more could we expect from an avowed white supremacist. Unfortunately for your argument, actual data demonstrates that foreign born and trained physicians are as good as you. Surprisingly, American born physicians who have trained overseas do worse than the foreign docs. It’s pretty clear that the US medical machine suppresses competition.

You are wrong about health care in the nations I listed. Just wrong. Those systems are not “in trouble”, and they care for all their residents.

Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security are no more broke than is our military. Is our military broke? How much money does the military bring in?

  17. Jeffery says:

    dp,

You linked to an opinion piece by a right-wing writer typing for a right-wing blog.

Is it surprising that he Williamson doesn’t support the ACA?

  18. drowningpuppies says:

    Do you have a point?
Everything you’ve expressed so far is opinion.
Uninformed and misleading I might add.

  19. gitarcarver says:

Dishonest, discredited, odious and often illiterate Jeffery writes post that is so far from reality that it is amazing.

The claim that other countries have better health care is often based on a long discredited WHO report which used different reporting methods. It should be further noted that the WHO report said their objective was to go to single payer systems for health care so it was not surprising that they changed or modified the data.

Secondly, Jeffery claims that companies received tax credits for health insurance. His claim is exaggerated to the point of being a lie. I called a couple of retired comptrollers that dealt with company finances. These retired gentleman have no reason to lie (unlike Jeffery) and they both said that companies got tax breaks for procedures that were mandated by the government. For example, if a child got a vaccine for school because it was mandated, the government would reimburse companies for that. For regular claims or premiums? Not a chance.

The interesting thing in Jeffery’s rant is he talks about back in the day when health care prices were lower and then notes that now that the government is trying to control the market, prices are higher and overall health care is more costly to the average person and family. His usual lack of logic fails to make the connection that government control increases costs. Free markets keeps prices lower. We have seen it in health care, housing, etc.

Jeffery touts foreign healthcare without knowing what he speaks. A friend of mine in Scotland has colon cancer. He has been told he has to wait 9 months for an operation. Such a wait time would be unacceptable in the US.

Finally, other countries artificially keep costs down by controlling wages, prices on drugs, etc. Jeffery loves that idea because it meand that people in the heath care profession are indentured servants and slaves to the government.

Is the military broke? Yes. The military is struggling to meet operational requirements. That is a known issue, but Jeffery doesn’t care about the military either.
    .
Oh, Jeffery thinks government run health care is great should talk to vets. The handling of health care at VA’s is abysmal.

But Jeffery, who loves slavery and blood on his hands wants vets to suffer and die as vet typically vote conservative.

The more vets that die because of the health care Jeffery wants for the rest of us, the better for him.

Go back to your delusional wife, Jeffery. Maybe her delusion allows her to accept your lies, hatred and love of slavery.

    The rest of us don’t.

  20. drowningpuppies says:

Is it surprising that he Williamson doesn’t support the ACA?

    Apparently these two don’t either.

  21. Jeffery says:

guttercrawler slithers out of its lair to spew more lies.

It gives all appearances of being possessed by demons and attacking all others. It reacts to facts as a demon responds to Holy water. Before it was possessed it made attempts to discuss issues but can now only react in a demonic rage.

This is symptomatic of a former man who has lost all his internal moorings – perhaps possession, perhaps a stroke, perhaps PTDS following a prison gang rape, perhaps his life partner ran off with another man – regardless, it’s sad – just a shell of a former man, lashing out, hoping to regain his humanity, so much like a Gollum searching for its “precious”.

The US pays more for healthcare per person than any other advanced nation – twice as much as most advanced nations and we don’t even cover all our residents! Much like the fossil fuel industry fosters doubt about global warming, the US medical industry (insurance, pharma, hospitals and clinics, execs, docs, lawyers) and their minions spread lies about healthcare.

These truths burn the skin of the crawler and it lashes out!

  22. Jeffery says:

    http://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/259429-reid-pelosi-pushing-repeal-of-cadillac-tax

Does wanting to change the tax on “Cadillac” plans qualify as not supporting the ACA in your estimation?

  23. Mike says:

Your Scottish friend reminded me of a newspaper article I saw while visiting Canada a couple years back:

Albertans currently wait as long as 37 weeks for an MRI in a public facility

There was a discussion of whether it should be illegal to avail ones self of a privately owned machine if you had the money but couldn’t afford to wait for “free” healthcare.

Add 37 weeks just to diagnose it before your nine month wait for surgery, and your survival rates go way down.

  24. drowningpuppies says:

Does wanting to change the tax on “Cadillac” plans qualify as not supporting the ACA in your estimation?

Hey, those two pushed it through a democrat-controlled Congress. They own it.
Also, they want it repealed .

  25. gitarcarver says:

The US pays more for healthcare per person than any other advanced nation – twice as much as most advanced nations and we don’t even cover all our residents!

And we don’t have people dying because of waiting times (unless you consider those covered by the government controlled health care system.)

Of course, new estimates are that after this year, there will be 32 million people in this country without healthcare. That is the very number that liberals such as yourself touted as the reason for passing the ACA.

    Congratulations.

Billions and billions of dollars spent on a program that increased the costs to the average person while lowering coverages and increasing deductibles.

The dishonest, discredited, often illiterate and odious Jeffery calls the ACA a good plan and a “success.”

Much like the fossil fuel industry fosters doubt about global warming, the US medical industry (insurance, pharma, hospitals and clinics, execs, docs, lawyers) and their minions spread lies about healthcare.

Aren’t you in the US medical industry Jeffery?

At least now we know that you are a self admitted liar.

  26. Jeffery says:

It takes a lot of time to correct the creepycrawler’s lies.

Some nations have longer wait times than the US, some shorter.

    http://getbetterhealth.com/wait-times-for-medical-care-how-the-us-actually-measures-up/2010.02.02

The US pays much more for healthcare than any other advanced nation, with little to show for it.

    http://www.slideshare.net/fullscreen/OECD_ELS/health-at-a-glance-2015/6

Yes, I am in the pharmaceutical industry but I don’t lie about healthcare. You do.

  27. drowningpuppies says:

    Misleading again.

The study referred to in the first link was touted by the Commonwealth Fund.

Typical of the Commonwealth Fund is a recent study claiming that the U.S. health care system ranks last when compared with seven industrialized countries. It’s just the latest in a string of policy studies from organizations that want to see a European-style, government-run health care system brought to these shores. Democratic politicians and their allies then use those studies to bolster the case for dramatic reforms.

So much for your credibility. Now who’s lying?

  28. gitarcarver says:

Since drowningpuppies has addressed the dishonest, discredited, self admitted liar’s first link, let’s take a look at the second.

The second link purports to be a study on costs of health care but focuses on the costs of pharmaceuticals in one section.

The US pays more for pharmaceuticals than other countries.

Remind us all what industry you work in odious one?

So what we are really seeing is a person in Jeffery who used conservative principles to make lots of money (ask him, he’ll tell you) and then decides he doesn’t want other to be able to do the same. And how does that desire get put into action? It doesn’t. Jeffery won’t lower the prices on his drugs. He has advocated the end of drug patents but won’t end the patents he owns or make them within the public domain.

In short, Jeffery is every bit of the hypocritical lying liberal that we have come to expect from the left.

Yes, I am in the pharmaceutical industry but I don’t lie about healthcare. You do.

So your statement that people in the pharmaceutical industry was a lie then?

Thanks again for admitting that you are a liar.

  29. Jeffery says:

The crawler slithers back, not that It desires to discuss an issue but is compelled to bite the ankles of others.

Did It go by the name Tom W. at the odious Gateway Pundendum? It reminds me of a paranoiac there years past who claimed he was stalked by liberals and was going to be the next Tom Clancy. Much like creepcrawler here, Tom W. was the self-assigned attack dog, whose only objective was to denigrate those commenters who pointed out the odious jimhoft’s daily lies. When one can’t argue the issues, one must attack the bearer.
