The Donald: Don’t Lecture Me!

Here’s the problem with Donald Trump: he’s throwing red meat to the Republican base, and no one is seeing through him. He sounds oh-so-reasonable. And he doubles down, as he writes at the USA Today

Trump: I don’t need to be lectured

John McCain has called his own constituents who want a secure border “crazies.” No one in the news media or the establishment, including the Republican National Committee, criticized the senator for those comments.

Now, as respected reporter Sharyl Attkisson has proved point by point, the news media are also distorting my words. But that is not my point. McCain the politician has failed the state of Arizona and the country.

During my entire business career, I have always made supporting veterans a top priority because our heroes deserve the very best for defending our freedom. Our Department of Veterans Affairs hospitals are outdated dumps. I will build the finest and most modern veterans hospitals in the world. The current medical assistance to our veterans is a disaster. A Trump administration will provide the finest universal access health care for our veterans. They will be able to get the best care anytime and anywhere.

Thanks to McCain and his Senate colleague Bernie Sanders, their legislation to cover up the VA scandal, in which 1,000+ veterans died waiting for medical care, made sure no one has been punished, charged, jailed, fined or held responsible. McCain has abandoned our veterans. I will fight for them.

Trump continues to go on in this vein, however, he 100% avoids the central point: you can certainly criticize McCain’s legislative record, and his attacks on other Republicans and Conservatives. Yet, Trump attacked McCain personally, with his remarks about McCain’s military service, and McCain’s military service was more than honorable. Trump has no leg to stand on if he’s going to complain about McCain’s attack on “crazies” then slur McCain’s war record.

A number of my competitors for the Republican nomination have no business running for president. I do not need to be lectured by any of them. Many are failed politicians or people who would be unable to succeed in the private sector. Some, however, I have great respect for.

Politics is certainly a nasty business, something many people fail to recognize. Always has been, always will be. But, yes, someone does need to lecture Trump. Better yet, get him out of the primaries, because the guy holds many positions to the Left of Hillary Clinton and other Democrats. He believes in abortion on demand, late term abortion, single payer healthcare, and a raft of other leftist policies. Just because he’s saying things we really like about securing the border doesn’t make him a good choice. Once the border is supposedly secured, he then wants total amnesty.

  1. TruthandFreedom says:

You have the nerve to say that Commie McCain served honorably? A journalist is suppose to base their observations on facts!

Read the following and tell me how his service is characterized as honorable! To say his service honorable is like Barry calling Bergdahl’s service honorable! Saying just doesn’t make it so, no matter how many times you say it!

I’m a veteran and I will outright say Trump was 100% correct that McCain was no war hero! Fact is, he was a TRAITOR to America and many service members lost their lives due to his cowardice. There is numerous documentation to prove that his awards: Silver Star, a Distinguished Flying Cross, three Bronze Stars, two Commendation medals plus two Purple Hearts are all as fraudulent as McCain himself!

Lets start with the fact that one must ask how on a medal count basis that McCain outweighs Murphy and Glenn, who both for years repeatedly performed extraordinary deeds on the ground or in the air against an armed enemy.
McCain’s valor awards are based on speculation as to what happened in 1967 during his 23d mission, when over Vietnam he was shot down and injured. He was then captured and then spent the next 5.5 years selling out America!
Is it no wonder that his own Senate office refuses to provide copies of the narratives for each medal. None of the awards, less the DFC, were for heroism! His awards were in-fact “boilerplate” meaning they were given no questions asked for all prisoners at the time period for that camp.

McCain’s Silver Star narrative for the period 27 October 1967 the day after he was shot down to 8 December 1968 reads: “His captors… subjected him to extreme mental and physical cruelties in an attempt to obtain military information and false confessions for propaganda purposes. Through his resistance to those brutalities, he contributed significantly towards the eventual abandonment…” of such harsh treatment by the North Vietnamese.

However, in McCain’s own words just four days after being captured, he admitted that he violated the U.S. Code of Conduct by telling his captors “O.K, I’ll give you military information if you will take me to the hospital.”

Thus, in truth “He received the nation’s third highest award, the Silver Star, for TREASON as he provided aid and comfort to the enemy!”

The rest of his valor awards issued automatically every year while he was a POW read much like the Silver Star. More boilerplate often repeating the exact same words. An example: “By his heroic endeavors, exceptional skill, and devotion to duty, he reflected great credit upon himself and upheld the highest traditions of the Naval Service and the United States Armed Forces.” As we can see no specific of any valor was entailed!

The truth is that by the fourth day of his capture he signed a confession and declared himself a “black criminal who performed deeds of an air pirate.” This statement and other interviews he gave to the Communist press were then used as propaganda to fan the flames of the antiwar movement. In total McCain made over 30 of these propaganda videos for the Communist Press.

According to McCain he tells of horror he endured: relentlessly beatings, torture, broken limbs. All inflicted during savage interrogations. Yet no other POW was a witness to these accounts. JUST NOT BELIEVABLE, unless we are to believe that McCain was kept in an isolated prison cell away from all other prisoners!

A former POW stated “No man witnessed another man during interrogations… We relied on each other to tell the truth when a man was returned to his cell.” However, if the torture was as bad as McCain stated his physical state would have clearly been noted!

Let us not also mention the fact that according to those issuing the awards, two eyewitnesses are required for any award of heroism. However, NONE of the valor awards McCain received have or had any eyewitnesses, less himself and his captors.

Could it be that his awards were issued on the fact that his father and grandfather both held 4 star admiral positions with the Navy? One can only assume that this is the truth, as from day 4 on of his captivity he behaved as a COLLABORATOR and propaganda tool for his North Vietnamese captors. McCain had engaged in no less than 30, and likely as many as 38 anti-American propaganda broadcasts for Radio Hanoi during the period of his captivity. Does any of this speak to being an image of an American WAR HERO?

An example of his cowardice and TREASON against America can be found in the US NEWS & WORLD REPORT, where he personally admitted in the article that during the time he was in prison (in fact It was by the fourth day) he asked the [North] Vietnamese to take him to the hospital and that in exchange he promised he would provide them with classified military information.

This military information consisted of highly classified information, the most important of which was the “package route” the military was using for the bombing of North Vietnam. He provided in detail the altitudes, directions, and the primary targets of interest for the United States.

The result was that the North Vietnamese moved their anti-aircraft defenses into those areas and built them up and strengthened them. They also moved the rockets, aircraft weapons, into the “package route” of where the airplanes were flying. This ended in many lost lives, as supported by intelligence reports! This information provided by this traitor ended with a 60% increase of lost aircraft and military personnel (Yes, lives were lost because of this coward!) After about a month, the situation deteriorated to the point that they finally called off the bombing of North Vietnam, all due to the information that McCain had given to the enemy!

It is said that McCain refused an early release. An act of valor?

This has clearly been disputed by three former POWs who stated that McCain was ordered to turn it down by his U.S. POW commander and he “just followed orders.”

McCain’s actions in Vietnam dishonor the many POWs who stood tall and refused to break their honor code.

    U.S. MILITARY CODE OF CONDUCT

    I. I am an American, fighting in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense.

II. I will never surrender of my own free will. If in command, I will never surrender the members of my command while they still have the means to resist.

III. If I am captured I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make every effort to escape and to aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy.

IV. If I become a prisoner of war, I will keep faith with my fellow prisoners. I will give no information or take part in any action which might be harmful to my comrades. If I am senior, I will take command. If not, I will obey the lawful orders of those appointed over me and will back them up in every way.

    V. When questioned, should I become a prisoner of war, I am bound to only give name, rank, service number, and date of birth. I will evade answering further questions to the utmost of my ability. I will make no oral or written statements disloyal to my country and its allies or harmful to their cause.

VI. I will never forget that I am an American, fighting for freedom, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free. I will trust in my God and in the United States of America.
So should Trump not have stated the truth?

I say Trump was right on point and that maybe we should have a poll by Americans as who is the biggest liar in government? McCain, Pelosi, Hillary, Boehner, McConnell, Reid, and let us not forget Obama or is it Barry ,,,, no one will ever know because the News Media refused to Vett him! News media vetting means pointing by the Media to the birth certificate on the government website, despite this proven a fake/forgery and even Barry’s own lawyer calling it such a bad fake (in a court of law).

THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE TIRED OF LIARS IN THE CONGRESS AND SENATE! THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE TIRED OF THEIR REPRESENTATIVES REFUSING TO TAKE A STAND AND SHOW BOTH INTEGRITY AND MORALS IN THEIR DECISIONS, INSTEAD OF MAKING DECISIONS ON BY THE FACT OF WHO WILL GIVE THEM THE MOST MONEY!

SOLUTION: NO MONEY ALLOWED IN POLITICS OR SENATORS AND CONGRESSMAN RECEIVE NO PAY FROM TAX PAYERS AS THEY REFUSE TO REPRESENT TAX PAYERS! THESE CRIMINALS WHO HAVE NO INTEGRITY CAN ACCEPT THE MONEY FROM THE LOBBYISTS OR THEIR BASE (TAX PAYERS) BUT NOT BOTH AS THAT SHOULD BE CONSIDERED DOUBLE DIPPING!

  2. Jeffery says:

Saw a tweet yesterday that compared Trump’s rhetoric to the comments section of a blog.

Now he’s “swift-boating” Senator McCain. The Senator has faults but his tenure in Vietnam is certainly not one.

The entertaining and uber narcissist Trump secured several student deferments during the war, allowing contemporaries like McCain and Kerry and hundreds of thousands of others defend his right make billions.

A party, or a nation, that takes the likes of Trump seriously deserves what they get.

  3. TruthandFreedom says:

Swift boating refers to John Kerry and the pointing out of his lies to America!

Let’s start with the premise that this all resulted from McCain calling everyone who was there, because Trump was addressing the securing of the border, as crazies!

A majority of those in government were deferred as well, so what makes Trump so terrible for being deferred and no politicians called out for the same facts! It seems to me as though in truth you are biased!

How has the fake two-party system worked for you? The whole government is a shame as established in the Act of 1871!

Thus, the presidency has already proven itself bought! So, what is different with Trump buying the Presidency when both the parties have been doing that their entire life? At least, unlike them he won’t be beholding to anyone! (rich donors, elites, corporations, special interest groups etc).

Likewise, unlike them he wants jobs for America, instead of making deals with corporations to send American jobs overseas!

  4. Liam Thomas says:

Well here you see an Astro-turfer in TruthandFreedom hitting the blogs with his defending Trump campaign.

A number of my competitors for the Republican nomination have no business running for president. I do not need to be lectured by any of them. Many are failed politicians or people who would be unable to succeed in the private sector. Some, however, I have great respect for.

Let me change that from a NUMBER to Almost NONE of them………There I fixed it for the Donald.

Who in the current field is really qualified to run this country?

John Richard Kasich (/ˈkeɪsɨk/; born May 13, 1952) is an American politician who has served as the 69th Governor of Ohio since 2011.

A member of the Republican Party, he served as a member of the United States House of Representatives, representing Ohio’s 12th congressional district from 1983 to 2001.

He was a commentator on Fox News Channel, hosting Heartland with John Kasich (2001–2007). He also worked as an investment banker, as managing director of Lehman Brothers’ Columbus, Ohio office until the firm collapsed in 2008.

What will work against him? Fox news contributor and Lehman Brothers banker.

As for ability to get things done….he is the one guy in the whole GOP field that is somewhat moderate, a Conservative who is not afraid to work FOR ALL AMERICANS and he has shown that will plenty of experience in federal and state goverment as well as working in the business sector….

And no it was not his fault Lehman brothers went bankrupt.

  5. I gotta mostly agree with Jeff. Too many in the Republican base are taking Trump seriously, much in the way they took Ron Paul serious. Each Party has their kooks, such as Alan Grayson. Of course, Trump really isn’t a Republican. Or a Dem. He’s a businessman who wants the best of all worlds.

  6. Jeffery says:

Does Trump really believe he has a chance to be elected? I doubt it. He is doing now what effective businessmen always do – marketing his brand. He’s campaigning for his next TV show. He’s at the top of the crowded Repub field because of his celebrity and the freedom to say whatever the hell he wants.

Do 16% of Republicans think most illegal immigrants are rapists and criminals? Probably. Trump taps that vein. Are many Americans disgusted by business as usual in Washington? Of course! Sanders and Trump both appeal to these folks, and the other candidates should take notice. Our plutocracy is in danger, but the plutocrats and their bought and paid for minions (Clinton, Bush, Walker etc) will fight back! They’ll have to thread the needle to assuage voters without really alienating their base – the wealthy. Obama did it. Although he was better than McCain or Romney would have been he wasn’t “all he could be” for the working classes. If you want to scare the bejeebus out of the plutocrats elect Bernie Sanders and nominate Elizabeth Warren Treasury Secretary.

  7. TruthandFreedom says:

I personally don’t care if it’s trump or someone else! I only seek that it be the truth! Why attack the Donald, if in-fact McCain was a TRAITOR as much information supports!

The problem with the USA CORPORATION everyone has been brainwashed into believing is there government do not work for them, or even represent them! Doubt me? Look up the Act of 1871 and how Washington DC was formed!

Anyone who is part of the government itself cannot be trusted, period! Prove to me that anyone with the government who needs the money from donors, corporations, and rich elitists don’t work for those that put them in office!

We have already seen how well this works!

Don’t get me wrong Trump isn’t perfect, yet at least his actions will be his own and not dictated by who he owes his financial backing to!

If he could make it, then maybe we could see real reform of government where by executive action the government officials would be disallowed from ever soliciting money during their holding of their positions!

An executive action to remove money from politics is the only thing short of revolution that will return control by the bankers and the foreigners to that of a true republic that represents and is by, of, and for the people!

  8. david7134 says:

One thought to consider in McCain’s medals is that his father and grandfather were both admirals. I am not sure which one was the real dummy, I think it was his grandfather. But, in WWII the guy was relieved from duty for putting his fleet into the center of two typhoons. He had some help from Halsey, who was a real dumbass and who could not be relieved due to the press. But between the two of them they sand more ships and killed more American boys than the Japs. You know of this as the Cane Mutiny was written as a work of fiction based on the true story.

  9. david7134 says:

Based on the comments, I looked up McCain. Here is a good summary with a decidedly very bad opinion on the guy:
    http://www.unz.com/runz/american-pravda-when-tokyo-rose-ran-for-president

If this is half true, then McCain is a disgrace and Trump is very much right in his assessment.

    Jeff,
Everyone was trying to get out of Vietnam. So don’t judge Trump on that basis. I had a medical school deferment and was listed 1-AM. That meant that on completion of school I went right into the service as a doctor. That is why Nixon is the greatest man that ever lived as he kept me out of the stupid, liberal induced conflict.

  10. Jeffery says:

Everyone was trying to get out of Vietnam.

Not John McCain. My brother-in-law didn’t support the war but joined as a medevac pilot and was killed on a rescue mission.

Rich kids like Trump could always find a way to dodge the military. John McCain could have too – but didn’t.

Over two million brave military members served in Vietnam. Over 58,000 got out in coffins. Obviously, a lot of young people couldn’t get out of going.

    liberal induced conflict

Was the “domino theory” a liberal construct? Were liberals the anti-communists back then? Were the draft card burners and anti-war protesters conservatives?

  11. Liam Thomas says:

Was the “domino theory” a liberal construct? Were liberals the anti-communists back then? Were the draft card burners and anti-war protesters conservatives?

Actually Jeff. They were. Both parties have made radical transformations since 1960.

JFK was elected as a Classical Liberal…look up the definition….very flag waving types.

He sent more and more advisors into Vietnam. Was talked into Invading Cuba because they were communist. Was sending Advisors into Vietnam because they were communist.

JFK and LBJ were quite active in South America as they saw commies around every corner in their neighborhood.

Then LBJ created his great society which was a total and complete break from the traditions of the Democratic party….you know up to this point the party that was ANTI-BLACK, pro military. Remember FDR and Harry Truman running WW2 and Korea. Remember JFK and LBJ running VIETNAM…..

So what changed….it was the second time in a century that both parties actually flip flopped from their present positions to taking on the positions of the opposing party.

For The democrats the Flip-Flop came with the signing of the Civil Rights act….and act that forced the entire south to defect to the Republicans and IF you look at the voting on the bill itself……you will see that a substantial number of Republicans aided and backed the bill.

It was this one act and the pronouncement by LBJ that “There goes the south” that the Democratic and Republican parties actually flip flopped political positions and it was this flip flopping that allowed the Democratic party to become prime real estate for the work progressives had been doing for a century and it was this flip flopping that allowed libertarians such as BARRY GOLDWATER and RONALD REAGAN to have such influence over their own party.

So yeah…the war hawks in this country did in fact use to be the liberal movement and the liberal movement in this country is gone….replaced by progressivism………

In the GOP Classical Liberalism exists as what most people would classify the moderate or centrist element of the GOP while the libertarian vein and the Quote, Quote Conservatives live to the right and far right of the party.

The GOP is more liberal then the Democratic party would ever hope to be.

Simply look up the definition of classical conservativism and you will see what Im talking about……

So the short answer is yes…..WW2, Korea, Vietnam were all led by the Democrats…Nixon was elected after 8 years of jfk and lbj led vietnam to get us out and he did….but it took 5 years.

Then along came 911 and Bush Jr. lost his fricken mind and the rest is history….the ex democrats who loved ww2, korea, vietnam….couldnt wait to jump into Afghanistan and Iraq while the ex republicans who opposed these wars couldnt wait to protest in the streets against them…..you know like vietnam.

  12. Liam Thomas says:

Simply look up the definition of classical conservativism and you will see what Im talking about……

sorry thats supposed to read classical liberalism not classical conservativism.

  13. david7134 says:

    Liam,
You are forgetting a few liberal wars. Add, WWI, Spanish-American, Civil War, Mexican-American, but the war of 1812 may be a toss up.

    Jeff,
I will repeat for your stupid head to get the message, every one was trying to get out of going to Vietnam. Period. Don’t try to rewrite history. My father and family were big in WWII, yet they would have preferred for me to go to Canada rather than bend to the liberal government, which they voted for. Kennedy was told not to go to Vietnam by Eisenhower, he didn’t get the message. LBJ kept to war going and even upped the anti, he pushed the use of air cavalry, he owned a good bit of the Texas company making ammunition and helicopters. After all, to go from being a school teacher to one of the wealthiest men in the US on a Senators salary, you have to have outside interest.

  14. john says:

well I can really only agree that one war the Civil War was a liberal war.
WWI ? I would say was a conservative one, who was against it ? Well the 2 biggest ethnic groups in the USA the Irish and The Germans, neither wanted to help merry olde England.
As for Vietnam I am old enough to remember that the right was pushing harder than the left on that one and anyone who says different is a stone cold liar. It was the liberals leftists and hippies who transformed American opinion against that war, not the right.

  15. Liam Thomas says:

It was the liberals leftists and hippies who transformed American opinion against that war, not the right.

Again you have it wrong…It was progressives. The SDS which was a communist organization led the marches. It was NOT liberals….Liberals were flag wavers.

Just like it was progressives who marched in the streets attempting with their every breath to destroy the presidency of Bush….these same people destroyed LBJ and Went to work on Richard Nixon.

As with Obama elected in 2007 but it was 2011 before we left Iraq and its 2015 and were still in AFghanistan……it took Nixon time to get out of Vietnam…….time the left refused to give because the draft was instituted in 1969…..probably Nixon’s biggest mistake.

Additionally if you look at old footage of the sit ins and marches it was the QUOTE “RICH WHITE KIDS” who were leading the marches…..While a relatively small number of SDS and other groups organized the marches the majority of the marching was being accomplished by RICH WHITE KIDS and their college deferrments as a result of the 1969 draft.

Stone cold Liar is pretty tough when you don’t even have your own facts straight.

Labels are important……Liberals are not progressives. Now had you said Progressives were marching against the war then I would agree with you. It certainly wasnt the liberals most of whom are now in the GOP camp.

  16. david7134 says:

    john,
Is there anything of which you are knowledgeable? WWI was the product of Wilson. Wilson was one huge progressive. Ever wonder why we have so little freedom, look no further than Wilson and FDR. We had just as much reason to side with the Germans as the English.

  17. david7134 says:

  18. john says:

The SDS did not “lead” the marchers. You must be getting senile. As far as looking at the footage I don’t have to I was there
Wilson was a huge reactionary he suppressed the anti war movement helped to push through the Sedition Act which basically outlawed free speech Yes it was Republicans who voiced opposition to it BUT they were liberal Republicans conservatives loved it
And Jesus you are freaking senile. The draft was NOT instituted in 1969 as you plainly stated.we had been drafting for decades. How can you say something as factually incorrect as that ? 69 was when the lottery began.
David you are so far to the right you have totally lost the use of your left hand
