The Arctic Death Spiral Is Apparently The Biggest Story Of Our Time

Not spying on Americans, not Islamist terrorism, not governments spending way more than they take in, not the tens of trillions in unfunded liabilities, nope. Here’s Joe Romm

(Climate Progress) The biggest story of our time is the collapse of Arctic sea ice and its impact on our extreme weather (see “CryoSat-2 Confirms Sea Ice Volume Has Collapsed“).

“Death spiral” is the right visual metaphor, as the latest monthly update of sea ice volume by creative tech guru Andy Lee Robinson shows:

Except, as Steven Goddard shows with actual data, there’s a disturbing normalcy in the Arctic.

If recent volume trends continue, many experts say we will see a “near ice-free Arctic in summer” within a decade.

Gotta love how the Warmists abandoned their “ice free Arctic in 2013” predictions.

Recent research finds that may well usher in a permanent change toward extreme, prolonged weather events “such as drought, flooding, cold spells and heat waves.”

If you’re blaming cold spells on global warming, you’re a fool and in it for the politics, not the science.

Teach THE warmists do not speak with a unified voice. Never have never will. But thanks dor at least acknowledging that there has been a tremendous change in the Arctic Ice. Shall we take a look at what the COLDISTS were saying back in 2008?? Here is one from blogger TEACH there is actually MORE ice now

Within YOUR lifetime Teach 50% of the summer ice extent has vanished. Within your lifetime (probably) the summer ice will be gone from the Arctic.
Now of course there will be only a small impact for YOU. But others alive now, may have a more difficult life as a direct result of this.

Really johnny? Then why are they crying about “consensus”? Why are the CAGWarmists trying to get everyone to believe their voice? You are so full of it. You almost all of your time here claiming consensus and then when its proven otherwise, you prance around like there never was such an attempt.

Within YOUR lifetime Teach 50% of the summer ice extent has vanished.

I don’t wish to put words in Teach’s mouth, but you are a blathering complete stuttering cluterf*ck of a miserable failure. We know you don’t know how to read johnny, but can you at least look at pictures? cute color coded pictures?

Granted, TEach could have written his post a bit more verbosely to make it clear that there is nothing at all abnormal about this season’s Arctic ice. In fact, it is WELL ABOVE the last 5 years of records. The “norlmacy” comment means that the current season falls within the 1979-2006 average.

But then, Teach, as he has said before, he has issues with his bandwidth.

So, johnny, what have you done to increase ice in the Arctic? Since you seem to be SO worried about it.

Then why do I see every Warmist pushing the “97% consensus” meme without even bothering to dig into what the report says? Why are they all saying that we hit 400ppm without mentioning that that report was erroneous? Why do you all quote the exact same things? Etc and so on?

Within YOUR lifetime Teach 50% of the summer ice extent has vanished.

Doesn’t prove anthropogenic causation. In fact, there have been times before 350ppm when the summer sea ice extent was lower, back during the early 20th century.

Within your lifetime (probably) the summer ice will be gone from the Arctic.

I have a good 50 years left. What happened to the prediction of 2013 (2015, 2016, 2020)? If you were pushing science instead of crystal ball reading, you could tell me definitively when it will be gone.
