A slip of the tongue, or a preview of what’s to come? Will Obama’s Greek Temple be upgraded to Mount Olympus?
(Politico) First lady Michelle Obama hit the campaign trail in Nashville on Tuesday and told a packed crowd in a downtown office building that the campaign has an “amazing story to tell.”
“This President has brought us out of the dark and into the light,” she said. “But we need each and every one of you as fired up as you’ve been.”
An amazing story, eh? Is it called the Neverending Campaign? The Unicorn Rider? The Chariot of Obama?
The first lady made roughly the same stump speech of recent weeks, chronicling the accomplishments of her husband’s first term, from the auto industry rescue to health care reform, ending the war in Iraq and the killing of Osama bin Laden. In a roughly 26-minute speech to a crowd of about 450, she also appealed to women voters, highlighting her husband’s signing of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act.
That’s a great story. To use the talking points of liberals, he assassinated Osama without due process. Nice. He put GM in the hands of the unions. He followed Bush’s plan to end the Iraq War. Women get paid 18% less in the White House, are typically excluded from the festivities, and some consider the Obama WH a “hostile work environment.” People are livid over Obamacare.
Then there’s the chronic high unemployment, people abandoning the work force in record numbers, low consumer confidence, low real wages, low disposable income, high and continuing to rise gas prices, rising energy prices, rising consumer goods prices, rising food prices, a housing industry that’s still in the dumps, and America with low influence around the world. He started a war of choice in Libya, ignored the massacres in Syria, finally took notice of Egypt and helped get rid of Hosni Mubarak, leading to a potential Islamist government, blew off the Green Revolution in Iran, threw allies under the bus on missile defense, and looks to be throwing American defense under the bus to Russia if he wins re-election. Debt and deficits are at historic highs. Homelessness is up. Credit is hard to get. Health care costs are rising. NASA is no longer in the air and space business, but, in Muslim outreach. Great stories!
It’s really not that surprising that Michelle O. is using messianic language, as she and Barack do think they are our betters, and we should bow down in prayer that they are here to rescue us from…..well, really, we need rescue from them and the devilish damage they’ve done to America in 3 short years.

I don’t fear the President or his wife’s pronouncements. I fear that the number of people who adore him and are swayed by her speeches will be enough to get him reelected. If so, then we are all doomed to continue living with the government they deserve.
That is one hell of a good point, Jack. We have entirely too many brain dead fools who either don’t know what they’re voting for, or understand perfectly, if you know what I mean.
