Sweet, Sweet Irony: #OWS Decides To No Longer Share Their Own Wealth With Freeloaders

Of course, pretty much all of the Occutards in Zuccotti Park are freeloaders, but, the kitchen staff has a problem with some more than others in their communist utopia (via Jammie Wearing Fool)

(NY Post) The Occupy Wall Street volunteer kitchen staff launched a “counter” revolution yesterday — because they’re angry about working 18-hour days to provide food for “professional homeless” people and ex-cons masquerading as protesters.

Part of it is surely that they are having to work, when they thought everything would be provided for them while they relaxed on a golden couch and were fed grapes.

For three days beginning tomorrow, the cooks will serve only brown rice and other spartan grub instead of the usual menu of organic chicken and vegetables, spaghetti bolognese, and roasted beet and sheep’s-milk-cheese salad.

They will also provide directions to local soup kitchens for the vagrants, criminals and other freeloaders who have been descending on Zuccotti Park in increasing numbers every day.

To show they mean business, the kitchen staff refused to serve any food for two hours yesterday in order to meet with organizers to air their grievances, sources said.

As JWF points out, the ex-cons and homeless are using up resources without contributing anything, so, the Occupiers are going to cut them off. The Occupiers surely do not even see the irony in cutting off people who have nothing and are just looking for some help from the Zuccotti Park “government.” But, the ZPG isn’t too happy to share their own largess with the less fortunate.

“We need to limit the amount of food we’re putting out” to curb the influx of derelicts, said Rafael Moreno, a kitchen volunteer.

Yup, still irony, considering what the Occupiers are demanding.

Some arguments broke out as the security team searched tents — but no violence erupted.

Security teams? In a communist utopia? Searching tents? Stalin would be proud.

This is like Lord Of The Flies on steroids. Child-like Marxists living like the proverbial pigs, though pigs tend to not live in their own “filth”, and are actually rather fussy eaters. They just like mud. And now they’re learning that people are going to try and take advantage of “the government” and get stuff for free because they feel entitled because “the government” is just there to help. The massive amounts of irony cannot be put into words.

This is the “usual?” Who knew that anarcho-socialist collectives were ready for FoodTV?

  2. The Occutards might be doing the digestive tracts of the freeloaders a favor by cutting them off.

Too funny. Those dayumn progressives working in the SOUP kitchen are being taken advantage of by people who ……..

    WANT SOMETHING FOR NOTHING…….

    and rebell.

    Progressives…….living a retarded life……one day at a time…..

And the MAIN STREAM MEDIA shouted AMMMMEEEENNNNNN!!!!…..praise Obama

  5. Susan Duclos says:

Does this mean they are now protesting against themselves?

  6. Adobe Walls says:

Wouldn’t the “professional homeless” be equally willing to eat “spartan grub”?
The homeless aren’t particularly noted for their discriminating palates.

What I wonder about is how the OWS want open borders and think that people who come here should not be “hassled” for being in the country illegally. After all, the “undocumented worker” is just looking for food and a better life.

Yet when it is the protestors who have to supply the food and the space for people they believe are not “part of their movement,” they demand the “interlopers” get out of “their” area.

How dare the homeless illegally squat on the same park the protestors want to illegally squat upon!

  8. Dion says:

Perhaps the professional derelicts should occupy the occupy Wall Street derelict’s Obamavilles and demand their rightful helpings of spaghetti bolognese, and roasted beet and sheep’s-milk-cheese salad. I bet the NAZI or SEIU factions of OWS would be enlisted to crack some skulls if the pro derelicts tried that.

How do the budding derelicts from OWS distinguish themselves from the pro derelicts? Is their stench less foul or their mossy teeth less green? No. The OWS derelicts have the new Che t-shirts and the iThis-or-Thats mommy and daddy or the trust fund paid for.

The post is full of gloating due to a complete lack of compassion and awareness of what’s going on.

Perhaps if the Wall Streeters (the rich, not the protesters) contributed a fairer share of taxes there would not be the flood of “derelicts”–such as the mentally ill, homeless, starving and those otherwise lost to society. Because they “earn” so much, the rich need to give back more in order to fairly contribute to society. They live off the low wages of the poor and middle class, after all. (Often it’s not even earning but mere money manipulation, or taking jobs from the middle class and poor in order to drive profits–which is destructive for society.)

The derelicts are mostly lost and confused and helpless to help themselves. Hardly anyone except with a mental condition wants to be homeless and dependent on food and shelter from others. I don’t see any conservatives or Tea Party members, or Christians for that matter “putting themselves in their shoes” to feel the pain of their brothers,to discover first-hand how it feels. So easy to judge from your armchair… and so cruel.

The Occupy Wall Street protesters rightly need committed, activist, intelligent and healthy people at the protests in order to send a sane and organized message to those who take from humanity and don’t see the devastation they help cause by their greed, insulation and insensitivity.

Example: Just 10% of the $33 billion in 2007 Wall Street bonuses would solve the world’s hunger problems for a year–by allowing a cup of rice a day with antibiotics to all the starving in the world ($3 billion investment, not cost). (UN World Food Programme)

Properly fed, many of the starving could work, start businesses and otherwise get a foothold on creating prosperity. Nobody can do so when starving.

By keeping so much of their money, Wall Street execs are letting starving children and adults die, contributing to the spread of deadly diseases and wasting their own lives in pleasures they could well afford to sacrifice larger percentages of.

And it’s clear that lower taxes have only fed the rich and increased the income and wealth gap in the U.S., leaving more children hungry and homeless and destroying a booming economy that grew for all between 1947 and 1977.

Those too rich to care for their hurting brothers and sisters are mere vampires–parasites sucking the blood of their earth family. If capitalism is so great, why hasn’t it eliminated poverty, hunger, homelessness and lack of medical care–ever in history??? Capitalism is sadly lacking in humanity except for the benefit of a privileged and well-connected few, and a fair number who make middle class incomes. Which are DISAPPEARING and DECLINING RAPIDLY.

I am the 99%. If you make less than $1 million a year, SO ARE YOU. So what are you complaining about? Be a human and be humane: help others less fortunate than yourself.

Facts on the great income divide that drives anger in the 99% below. Basically, it was preventable, and the bankers have not paid for their crimes and negligence and mismanagement of global financial markets:

    • Adobe Walls says:

Looked at the chart, I’m sorry, what was your point?
The reason the wall streeters haven’t been hauled to jail is because for the most part they didn’t break any laws, hubris and greed aren’t criminal acts. If they were hauled into court their defense would be that the government made them make the dumb loans and forced them to collateralize them. That they can prove in court. Name calling is discouraged here but you sir are a nitwit.

  11. Adobe Walls says:

Wait, I’m sorry I thought I heard violins.

  12. So, ThinkLife, basically what you are saying is that people who work hard and succeed should simply give you the fruits of their labor, because the are…well, mean, I guess.

So, when do you go protest at the white house, the offices of Dodd, Frank, Pelosi, Reid, etc, who have enriched themselves off the backs of the taxpayers?

  13. gitarcarver says:

The post is full of gloating due to a complete lack of compassion and awareness of what’s going on.

We are not the ones turning people who need food and shelter away. The OWS people are. Our money is donated to charities and causes we support without the need for your approval at all.

We understand what is going on.

The OWS are hypocrites. They are demanding others do what they will not.

  14. Adobe Walls says:

“so much of their money” “Their” being the operative word. Capitalism, even the flawed version exemplified by our current regime has done more reduce poverty and increase the health and the standard of living of the overwhelming majority of our people. But that’s a benefit of not the purpose of capitalism, as to the “earth family” whatever that’s supposed to be, capitalism in this country isn’t supposed and cannot solve their problems even if that was desirable. To solve their problems they need their own capitalism.
