Push For Solyndra Loans Came From The Top

Another day, another revelation that the Solyndra issue is not the not big deal that many want to make it out to be. I guess the big question will be “was there anything illegal about the loan?” But, if the GOP has any brains, they will beat the Obama admin with this, as The Most Transparent Administration Evah!â„¢ doles out drips and drabs, sometimes forced to. And, the MSM, despite their liberalism and Obama support, might, like Great Whites, smell blood in the water

(Washington Post) White House staff discussed in e-mails that either President Obama or his former chief of staff Rahm Emanuel were eager to help spotlight a solar company in early 2009, despite numerous internal warnings that the company could be financially unstable, according to newly obtained e-mails.

The administration was working to arrange a way for Obama to headline a news conference in early September to announce that Solyndra of Fremont, Calif., had won a $535 million government loan to spur clean energy firms — the first his administration had provided.

The correspondence suggests that, at the most senior levels and down the chain, the fledgling Obama administration had significant interest in using the loan to highlight progress under the Recovery Act. The e-mails were produced as part of a congressional probe and provided by a government source Friday.

Essentially, as we all could figure out, Obama didn’t give crap whether the company was solvent, they wanted a great photo op of Obama pushing his Stimulus and green energy ideas.

Furthermore

(ABC News) An elite Obama fundraiser hired to help oversee the administration’s energy loan program pushed and prodded career Department of Energy officials to move faster in approving a loan guarantee for Solyndra, even as his wife’s law firm was representing the California solar company, according to internal emails made public late Friday.

Pure crony capitalism (socialism?), eh, cronyism, from the guy who said he was going to change the way Washington worked. He did. He made it much, much worse. And these amateurs engaged in amateur hour probably thought there was no possible way they would ever get caught.

When the book is written on high level corruption, (and incompetence) the Obama administration will have at least its own chapter, if not the whole darn book.
