One has to wonder: if Perry is so squishy on an issue that is very important to Conservatives, what else will he be squishy about?

Because the fact of the matter is there’s no way they could pay the out-of-state tuition. And are we going to have them on the government dole over here because they’re not educated? Or are we going to have them in our institutions of higher learning, paying in state tuition, pursuing citizenship?
“So in Texas, we made the decision that it was in our best interest as a state — economically and otherwise — to have those young people in our institutions of higher learning becoming educated to be part of our skilled workforce.”
So, you provided illegal aliens with a taxpayer subsidized higher education, giving them the means to displace legal American citizens from jobs? Um, but, wait, said illegals with a taxpayer subsidized higher education cannot legally work in the United States, so, you’ve essentially provided them with a taxpayer subsidized higher education for no reason?
But, yes, you do “kick them to the curb”, preferably the curb in the country they came from.

So, I take it then that EVERYONE attending Texas universities from any place in the world, will be getting in-state tuition as well. There really is no way anyone can afford the out-of-state tuition.
Heck, most people can afford to pay the in-state tuition either. Isn’t that the reason why the gov’t became the sole provider of collegiate grants and loans?

Here is the deal, once they start college, they are no longer the poor illegal kids of illegal parents, they are ILLEGAL ADULTS! Now say that 3 times, “ILLEGAL ADULTS!, ILLEGAL ADULTS!, ILLEGAL ADULTS!” See it does make sense, we are paying for ILLEGAL ADULTS, in our country “ILLEGALLY” to go to college and displace TEXAS CITIZENS from a rightful and legal place in said college… See, doesn’t it all make since once I explain it?

Businessman Herman Cain on Sunday called it “insulting” that the family of Rick Perry leased a hunting camp with a racially charged name well into the 1980s and possibly even later.
There “isn’t a more vile, negative word than the N-word, and for him to leave it there as long as he did, until before, I hear, they finally painted over it, is just plain insensitive to a lot of black people in this country,” said Cain, who is running against Perry and a group of others for the Republican presidential nomination.
I thought we had moved beyond the racial thing in 2011. I mean after all a Black man was among the top 3 contentders for the GOP nomination and he goes and pulls this crap.
It is his “Heartless” moment and while the right will be mysteriously silent on it….you mark my words his numbers will slide dramatically in the coming few days because of this.
Wait. I’m confused. Because Cain called Perry out on the long-time use of a camp called N****, that makes CAIN on the wrong side of the argument? Exactly how?
If I was running for office, I’m white, and my counterpart who was black, had a boat that he and his family have leased for decades was named “White Cracka'”….I’d go after that as well. To ignore it would wrong.
But, there is more wrong with Cain’s campaign than this non-real stuff… take the recent departure of another of his workers……

Either this is a political machine worker who is only out for making the most money she can from a campaign she determines to be on top. She’s a campaign jumper. Or, there is some real personality issues with Cain.
But then, Cain is a businessman and I am sure he has stepped on alot of toes to make his business a success.

I’m sorry, but what didn’t Perry do? He attended the camp before his father bought the lease. Perry claims the rock was painted over “a few weeks” after the family bought the lease, but never says what he and his family called the place when they were negotiating for the property or when they used the land prior to the lease.
Why is it that we applauded Cain when he claims blacks were brainwashed by the Democrats and yet excoriate Cain when he says the camp’s name – and Perry’s reaction to that name – was “insensitive.”
Are we saying that Cain can’t talk about race unless he uses it against the Democrats? How hypocritical is that?
To me, this shows another crack in Perry’s ability to be sure of anything. When the story first broke, Perry hemmed and hawed, not knowing what to say or do. (In other words, he acted like Obama.) He has since come out and given a less than a satisfactory explanation on the name of the camp.
He seems to be unwilling to say the camp thing was a mistake, just as he continues to defend the ridiculous idea of allowing illegal immigrants to pay “in state rates” for college tuition.
Personally, I am getting the impression of Perry that he is a politician who is willing to say and do what people want to hear, rather than stand up for any principled stance held by conservatives.

The problem is that racism still exists in this country. “Moving on” is not the same thing as “ignoring.”
The charge from the left is that we as a party or group are all racists just because we are conservatives. Cain, on the other hand, said that Perry had acted in an insensitive manner in one instance. Cain did not blame everyone for Perry’s actions.
Cain had a valid issue and chose to comment upon it. Perry has responded and Cain has accepted his explanation, although I find it to be lacking in some areas. I accept it, but but it wanting.
To me, this is nothing more than if Perry had found a candidate that was “pro family” having multiple affairs. Or a candidate that was advocating higher taxes found to have not paid taxes.
I don’t see this as a “race card” issue so much as I see it as a comment on a specific incident.
The problem is that the word is so offensive to the entirety of humanity that any decent person must climb any mountain or swim an sea to erase it lest someone be offended by it’s existence. This is the same thinking that has moonbats trying to erase the “N word” from Twain’s books. If that word is so offensive in a work of 19Th century literature that history must be eradicated, why is it acceptable in modern rap music or even in common speech among black people.
Yeah Adobe, conservatives, especially white conservatives are held to a much higher standard. Why? Because everyone expects us to have higher standards. Why do the left and the liberals get away with mud-slinging, race-baiting, name-calling, lying, bribery, vote-buying, influence-peddling, money-laundering, etc…? Because no one holds them accountable to higher standards. No one expects them to behave appropriately.

We must hold everyone to a high standard, ESPECIALLY those wanting to be our president. If voting for liberals has taught us anything, is that words and actions matter.
The Perry-Cain interaction was an issue to determine one’s position. Could it have been a low blow? Sure. As many questions are during this time in the political fight. But, it brings up issues that help voters see how the pol reacts, responds, and what they do about it.
To many, bringing up the support of illegals in his state is racist. To me, its an issue of character. To some, bringing up the issue of the N-word camp is racist. TO me, it is an issue of character. Especially in how he responds.
Look at what happened to Pres GWB during his race to presidency. He was slammed with the anti-christian thing. He was attacked with the drunkard and drunk driving issues. Low blows? Everyone agreed that they were but these are issues that do show ones character. And, to me, it showed an astounding amount of character how he handled the questions directly and forthrightly. He did not hem-haw around them.
In the end, we can all agree that Bush is a great man of character and stature. He is a social republican yes, but his character determined how he would stand up under pressure.
If Cain didn’t bring up this issue, another would and nothing would be said of the “accuser”. But since Cain is black and a black conservative, then the “accuser has to be attacked.
The proper response to a reporter’s question on this would be “what a moron you are” and then move on. Understanding that having certain words in a book or on a rock is a big deal to moonbats doesn’t mean it actually is a big deal. This is like complaining about the confederate flag. Giving race baiters a hecklers veto over whatever they choose to make an issue of does no one any good, least of all those who are supposed to be represented by the racers.
