Congratulations to the Detroit Lions, who broke a 19 game losing streak to beat the hapless and truly pathetic Washington Deadskins.
I’m thinking Redskins head coach Jim Zorn is going to be adding to Obama’s unemployment numbers Monday. Who the h*ll calls a flea flicker with 8 seconds left and a “we have to throw it long and put it in the endzone to win the game?” Most bone-headed call I have heard in a long, long time. Everyone watching the game (or listening on radio, as I was on the way how after the Giants smacked down Tampa Bay) knew you throw the hail mary. Two year olds know it. A trick play gains you nothing with 8 seconds to go facing a three man rush.
No shit, I am seriously offended by that play. Redskins fans (of which I know quite a few) should be offended by what is essentially a “screw you guys, we’re going home” play. At least the hapless Bucs tried.
