Unfortunately, John, life is change. The average temps change. It always happens. There have been times when it has been much hotter, and ones where it has been much colder. Consider that the Vikings became farmers in a place they called Greenland during the Global Climate Optimum.

Looking back at the temperature graphs that are available all over the internet, what temperature would you choose as "the perfect temperature"? If the avg. world temperature in 1850 was, for the sake of arguments and because I don't want to go pull the actual number, 50°F, is that what we should be shooting for? Why that year? Why not shoot for the average global temperature from 1901? Why not 1945?

If as the global warming camp claims, man is responsible for the warming trends we are seeing, what are we using as the standard, perfect temperature? Give me a number to shoot for.

Personally, I'd love to never have my local temp dip below 60°F. To me, the perfect range would be 60°-80°F. So as far as I am concerned, I'm fine with the temp going up a bit.

Also, do you find it ironic that to cure man's pollution of the atmosphere, Mr. Holdren would propose that we pollute the atmosphere?

MBP most life on Earth would probably vote for the temps to which they had all become comfortable at. We do not want it to change.

This presents an interesting topic that NO ONE ever wants to address. Aside from whether or not man is responsible for the recent warming trends we have seen in past years, what is the "perfect" temperature that the earth should be at? Is the temperature that we have right now good? What year did we have "the perfect temperature"? 1983? 1961?

And how about this.... if Barry thinks he can engineer the climate to cool it down, what happens if he "over-corrects" it? Or if Barry's team of scientists (why do I picture Simon Bar Sinister & Cad in a lab somewhere working on this?) end up blocking rays of the sun, how will that affect the left's plans to power the world with solar energy?
