The United States plans to pledge more than $900 million to help rebuild Gaza after Israel’s invasion and strengthen the Western-backed Palestinian Authority, a U.S. official said on Monday.
The money will be channeled through U.N. and other bodies and will not be distributed via the militant group Hamas, which rules Gaza, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity as U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton plans to make the announcement next week at a Gaza donors conference in Egypt.
So, let’s see: blaming Isreal? Check. UN and others getting the credit for spreading US money (which seems to be appearing out of a unicorns a**)? Check. None of the money going through Hamas? Good luck with that! Remember Hamas taking the international aid sent to Gaza during the last conflict?
I wonder how much the UN will siphon off before it even gets to Gaza?
Teach most American Jews like Obama. Would you presume to know better than them what is best for the state of Israel ?
900 million is a HUGE number !! Let’s see divided by 300 million Americans that comes to about 3 bucks apiece or a bit less than a penny per day per American. hmmm
