The AGW Farce Continues: It Now Causes Snow

LOL! Once again, Teach, you completely missed the point of the article. It’s not that AGW causes snow. The main point was that global warming is the reason that this snowfall is so extraordinary:

If it wasn’t for global warming this cold snap would happen much more regularly. What is interesting is that we are now surprised by this kind of weather. I doubt we would have been in the 1950s because it was much more common.

Teach, you really ought to try to just sit back and think about what you’re posting on before you write it up. You get so worked up about some new “ridiculous” item, and you seem to skim over some very important pieces of information, which would have negated your point.

You’re making a fool of yourself. Please stop.

Of course it can and that’s why it’s important we understand what caused past climate changes so we can see if those causes are responsible for the most recent warming trend. It turns out climate scientists do have a good understanding of climate change in the past. There’s an entire chapter on it in the IPCC’s Fourth Assessment report (Chapter 6: Palaeoclimate).

Climate scientists readily admit the climate has changed on all times scales throughout Earth’s history. And different climate changes had different causes (volcanic eruptions, solar output, etc.). But those natural causes cannot account for the current warming trend.

The fact that natural factors caused climate changes in the past does not mean that the current climate change is natural. By analogy, the fact that forest fires have long been caused naturally by lightning strikes does not mean that fires cannot also be caused by a careless camper.

Why do you keep ignoring this?
